Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's a personal choice.

Showing other Black and Brown people that you have been recognised is important too.

There is a campaign to get the E changed to Excellence.

Are you suggesting that you cant be a member of the british empire if you speak out about racism? Or have I missed your point?

I would have a lot more respect if they turn down MBE,s by accepting it you are accepting the racism of the past

Do you say the same for the White people that accept their honours? If not, look at the racism in your thought process.

There are lots of reasons people refuse them, and some return them. There are lots of reasons people accept them. My point was your framing this about two Black men and not all people who are anti-racist.

I am a product of 'empire'. I know the racism I have faced. If offered, I would accept the honour while my father is still alive. After he has died I might have a different response.

"Who wouldn’t it be?"

Because they become worthless, so many people deserve them but rich people that pontificate don't ever. Just politically correct hogwash.

I am Italian also had racism going back to teachers in school so I know but I'm sure it would be 100 times worse for black and brown people even more for them not to support an award which is connected to racism
