In the old days if you had too many fantasists in one place it was often called an Asylum.

Should we be made more aware of Mark Zuckerb*rg and Co?

As they may have plans for you!

I think the OP is trying to describe companies that use your data for advertising and marketing strategies.

As for "turning you into something you're not" the internet is a goldmine of information for people who want to expand their knowledge or get involved in different types of community that aren't readily available to them...

A couple of strategically targeted adverts seems like a small price to pay for that, even more so when you're already aware of them

It's impossible to not (sometimes) be led along certain paths by viewing suggestions offered on the internet that tally with an interest(s) (not ads in my case) is it entirely a good thing to be so spoon-fed?

Zuckers is a dangerous little fucker, same for the heads of ggooggle, twwwitter etc. Companies that can choose whether or not certain people or certain information are/ is allowed to be seen by others can literally sway global narratives whenever they wish.

That's the way it IS going AND it IS extremely dangerous.

BUT you CAN make friends along the way TOO.

At WHAT cost?

Has the media not always been like this?

Yes they have, but are now joined by other powerful influencers.
