Thanfully many years ago, my so-called friends used to put me down and hold me back. By not listening to them I have run 4 businesses, one £ multi Million, though that strssed me out. Met people I couild never have met, discovered I don't need money to be happy and found some amazing friends and a new partner.

Sometimes I do care, sometimes I don’t.

I think not caring at all about anyone’s opinions is an unrealistic expectation.

I care what the people close to me think, and I wouldn’t want to stop that.

I kid myself that I have, and to a certain point I have with strangers, but then my mum will say something or my kids will give me a look, and I crumble.

I think it’s quite self indulgent being able to be that gung ho about not giving a fuck - and if folk can do it then all power to them - but I know to be the role model I want to be to my kids, to some degree, I HAVE to give a fuck. About some things at least.
