Everyone has their preferences but when I see single women say 'no hotel' for meets i'm confused as you'd think it's safer etc

Genuinely curious to know why you have a no hotel meet policy?

I will do hotel meets with people who I have chatted with for a while (at least a few days so I know more about them)

Generally the hotel requests I have had are all spur of the moment such as "I'm in this hotel tonight, fancy meeting me?".

I would never meet that quickly with anyone so it's a no from me.

Hmmm, being in a closed room, door locked, away from anyone else, with someone you've never met. What could go wrong?!

I know this sounds really daft but I don't like hotels unless we spend longer together, like do social stuff including dinner or a show or something. Otherwise, it just feels a bit cheap to me.

Others think differently.

I don't think hotels are safer. You're still as a single person alone in a room with someone.

We're not keen on hotel meets ourselves. Couldn't tell you why though

Hotel beds aren't cosy.

Yeah, if I said that it'd be aimed at "I'm in Manchester all alone and I need some entertainment". Ok hun, Waterstones is on Deansgate, cinema at Great Northern or Printworks, have fun.

I can think of a couple of reasons:

1. It's usually someone saying meet me in my hotel room tonight and I prefer to chat first so I get to know them not just a random person that I've never spoken to

2. Hotel rooms can be expensive and they don't want to pay for it

I would agree with this

I bloody love hotels, but I'm never going to rush to someone's hotel room because they're in the area with work for one night.

I'm not a hooker doing outcalls.

With someone I know and like I'm always up for a night away.

I love hotel meets. They feel safer than someone's home to me.

They also allow a greater degree of fantasy and freedom to create the right atmosphere.

A couple of hours outside of real life.

Works for me x

We would always use hotels or apartments- never invite anyone back to ours unless a long term friendship.

But then it would be planned as an evening/night weekend.

As said in another thread most encounters happened outside of FAB and just chat and laughter which turned into more which for us is what we prefer. Meets are usually full of stifled conversations and expectations which despite what people say is always there

I'd rather meet at a hotel than someone's house. I'd feel safer I think, knowing there are cameras and other people close by. I'd only go to someone's house if I knew them well and trusted them.
