This isn’t a pity post. Just curious about when you stop worrying that you’re not getting to meet people and just start fully enjoying the chat and banter on here. It’s a mental rollercoaster at times xx

I've never worried about meeting people. If it happens it happens.

I'm of the if it happens it happens mentality. If I let myself get hung up on it I'd get in a fuss over it

Whenever I come on here these days (not so much recently) it’s mainly to have a good old laugh, natter and flirt. If someone catches my eye turn great. Otherwise I’m not that bothered

I never worried about not getting meets tbh. As has been said before, things happen when you least expect it. Just be yourself. There'll be someone that likes you for you

As a single man on here without a partner i do feel the odds are stacked against me with meeting. I have learnt to enjoy the chat rooms and cams though. Perhaps i need to cam someone and at least get verified too. Unsure of similar sites to this out there that dont break the bank?

My motivation here changes a lot. Sometimes I get interested in people's minds and just want a chat, other times I decide it's time for some sexy times and shagging.

Currently Im pretty satisfied sexually so I'm mostly here just pissing about on the forums and trying to learn about the species

I think it is about managing expectations - I come here for the forums mainly and never EXPECT to meet anybody with whom I have enough in common to take things further. Then if I do click with somebody it is a bonus.

I do sometimes wonder if it wasn’t for the forums whether I’d still be on fab. Although I’ve had the good fortune to meet some very lovely people, I’m not sure I’d keep logging on without the forums.

I never cared for the forums but since find you guys it’s been great. And yes lots of lovely people to chat to and maybe connect with. And if you do it’s amazing. But not expected

Really interesting comments. I’ve met some lovely people in the forums I’ve connected with elsewhere too, which is genuinely lovely. It’s the meet side of things that seems most difficult - I know it’s a matter of getting my head around it but how to do that is the key xx

Those who message me, generally have a wank and call it quits. But as I use the site mainly for the forums and club meets, I’m fine with it

We don’t really care about meeting people on here as it doesn’t affect our ability to have fun or go out to clubs and events.

We also know we are looking for a small niche, and are therefore not to everyones tastes.

If you let yourself get consumed by the idea that if you aren't meeting you are failing you will soon find this a hurtful experience.

As for banter, I speak to a few people off site, but rarely speak with many people on site.

I just use the forums to drop my truth nuggets and then walk away!

There's no one size fits all. It depends on your expectations. If you see it all as a competition you will suffer more knockbacks than you will if you have patience and don't worry about what others are doing.

Don't force it.

You do tend to click with like minded people. It’s like when people say certain people always agree with their friends and they call it lamppost pissing. No! They’re my friends because we agree on most things!

I enjoy talking to those I have a connection with, whether that's a platonic or less so... I've got a good tribe of genuine, intelligent, dorky and warm hearted friends on here. I enjoy the chat on here and don't really think about meeting people - if it happens that's nice enough but sometimes it's just nice to switch off and read the amusing, psychophantic posts on the fora.

Yes, and after a while you just get familiar with different peoples styles. It’s natural to be drawn to some and put off by others.

I think that is a valid point - that said sometimes people do surprise me. I m saying I can agree with some forumites on virtually everything, with others only occasionally and then out of the blue, they say something really funny, wise, relevant... and I am thinking "wow" .

I try to remain open-minded about people, not just in the forums but in life. We all can be more than one thing.
