A London east end chip shop called Jack the Chipper is under fire because some say it makes light of the Jack the Ripper murders and glamourises and makes fun of the violence towards women. Some disagree. What say you?

The original one is in Whitechapel where the murders took place. First time I saw it it made me giggle. Its been there a while with no issue. The Whitechapel murders attract a lot of attention and tourism. A little bit up the road is the Blind begger pub where Ronnie Kray shot George Cornell, that's also on a tour. People like morbid/criminal histories.

I say it's grand, it's a play on words.

In Belfast there was a chip shop called 'for cod and Ulster' not sure if it's still around.

For God and Ulster is the motto of a paramilitary group. To the best of my knowledge nobody got butt hurt over it.

This...otherwise any comedy/satire based on unfortunate incidents like crime and war would go too...
