Am I expecting too much from people? Or is it just acceptable now for people to plan a social and not turn up…

It’s not nice but it’s very common I believe. Not a lot that can be done about it.

Gapping Fanny

It’s never acceptable to plan something and then no show and/or then ghost.

Sadly it happens all too often, and all you can do is chalk it up to experience and learn from it.

Depends

If it’s a guy then no, it’s rude

If it’s a woman then yes, she’s allowed to have a last minute change of heart

Perhaps give them a negative review?

It's shameful behaviour, sorry it happened OP. People should have the decency to message if they need to cancel or change their mind.

The right place

It’s rude and not acceptable. But sadly it seems to happen quite a bit.

No your not expecting too much OP, just part and parcel of being on here unfortunately. Just move on to someone else who will show you a little more respect and don't give them a second chance to do it again. There are some great people on here, just takes some finding that's all.

Maldon and Peterborough

I treat people as I would like to be treated.

I can't expect that of everyone else, but at least if I don't let them down then I can be happy.

Tbh I don’t frequent fab as if I make a connection swap numbers or a platform to chat off here I leave here and focus on that. But I’m fully aware people carry on chatting to numerous others. I don’t expect them to do different but I do expect to be given a heads up if anything changes as I have to make changes to my day too to accommodate a social. Only fair and I’m not usually bitter about it that just happens. It’s the frustration of now having made my day free for it and not even a word in reply

Although it sucks when it happens to you, remember one thing: it must suck even more to be them.

Always take a book. Often the book is better than the meet !

I've also heard the idea of dog walking as a date ... as the dog always needs walk. May feel a bit too much like digging in this world tho !!

Whatever the reason there is no excuse for not being courteous.

Nothing worse than having time wasted especially when you dont have much of it.

Regardless of gender it is rude not to show up without telling the person they can't make it for whatever reason. Everyone can change their mind but have the decency to tell the person

somewhere only we know.

If a woman doesn't turn up, it's because they got a better offer from a fake profile and he didn't either....

There’s no excuse in this day and age for people not to be able to contact you to let you know.

Were the signs there? Had the conversation started tailing off? No contact this morning?

Usually you start getting inklings.

At the end of the day, all you can do is try and make sure your red flag warnings are tight but they can never be watertight…

If it’s any consolation…you’re on our hotlist

K

The world is full of flakes, and not just in the world of swinging. We don't think it's acceptable, but clearly the people who do it think it is.
