Anyone with Julia Roberts in she is a total Zombie. Hang on that would be the worst zombie film come to think of it.

Silent Hill is a good one - also based on a game like the Resi Evil series...

Although they're all good in their own right,

28 Days later, Dawn of the Dead 2004, Zombieland and I am Legend stand out for me!

But theres a real hidden gem out there which never got the recognition it deserves.

Pontypool is a definite one to watch!

"Really enjoyed 28 Days Later and Zombieland."

being a role playing gamer i had a chat with my fellow dnders about this only at the weekend.... We dont think 28 days later is actualy a zombie film because the infected arent actualy dead and they starve if they dont eat. that having been said they are the scariest infected by far..... zombie land and shaun of the dead are also very good. i love the dawn of the dead remake and the crazies is quite good too.

Check out Zomblies which is an excelent british youtube film (and while youre there watch war of the servers if you are a geek, very funny!)

Shaun of the Dead is class. I liked 28 Days Later too, up to a point. Thought it got a bit weird when Christopher Eccleston showed up. I quite liked Zombieland too, which was a surprise. Didn't think I would. And Dawn of the Dead is still a classic.

just finished Pontypool. I cant see how it was under rated as id never heard of it but it was good for a low budget film. kinda reminded me of another low budget flick where the dj does his night shift while the world goes to shit but i cänt remember the name.......

I like Shaun of the Dead, it has great humour. I don't watch many zombie films because they scare me so I haven't seen many. I saw the first episode of that Walking Dead series and I hated it when the zombies ate that horse, his little eyes in pain, so I didn't watch any more.

My son and I watched a programme on Channel 4 a few years ago with Davina McCall in which was based around Zombies and a Big Brother type set. I quite liked that.

For me zombies aren't elegant and that puts me off them, can't be doing with their white eyes and arms hanging off and they just rip people apart and don't think about the mess to their clothes, and they just ran all the intestines in their mouths at once. They've got no manners, I don't like em

I am a huge fan of zombie films!

George A Romero is the best and Dawn of the dead and Day of the dead are brilliant

Other faves are city of the living dead, gruesome!

Fulci's the beyond and flesheaters ( infamous for zombie vs shark scene)

28 days later is ok but not strictly zombies

I don't like zombie comedies such as Shaun of the dead and zombieland

Zombies are a serious business!!!

And anyway if you want laughs check out any of the unintentionally funny Italian 70s/80s zombie pics such as

Zombie lake- hilarious

Or burial ground- where the zombies are cleverer than the dim witted victims lol

This film is also notable for an unsettling totally random subplot about mother/son incest where the son is played by a creepy looking dwarf called Peter bark, google him lol

Remake of Dawn of the Dead has a great dark comedy undertone. Zombieland is a surprise favourite as well. But Sean of the Dead does it just right.

I think any zombie film that takes itself too seriously is going to lose, we're talking about the living dead for petes' sake!

I like loads. I love the whole idea of zombie apocalypse and survival. First realisation would be to save yourself then once you have a group of survivors develop from there. Anyway onto the films.

As mentioned, Walking Dead even though it isn't a film. I have heard the third series will be done in two parts with a gap in the middle around xmas time. I've also heard they may do a section of the story as a film. Not sure what they'll do but it sounds pretty good. Anyone who hasn't watched this series should do. As a zombie fan I didn't pay it any attention with it not being a film but a friend turned me onto it and i've not looked back.

Cockneys vs Zombies looks good for a laugh. Shaun of the Dead is great for that comedy value. I've seen a 'Juan of the Dead' in ASDA which i'm assuming is a Mexican version of this. Not sure whether it's worth a look or not lol.

Dawn of the Dead is pretty good for a bit more seriousness.

28 days/weeks later. Pretty good but I don't really class these as typical zombies. It's a 'rage virus' so a little bit different though the same principal.

Resident Evil is a good series primarily with zombies but with it being a 'virus' the mutations add a little extra to the proceedings.

My personal favourite zombie film at the moment is Zombieland. It has a healthy dose of comedy along with a kick arse opening theme(For whom the bell tolls by Metallica). Well worth a watch if you haven't seen it already.

An obscure zombie film to look out for if you haven't seen it is 'Zombies on a Plane'. You've no doubt seen Snakes on a Plane right? Yeah, same thing. Only less snakes and more zombies.

I am not sure of the name but watched a Russian zombie film the outbreak started in a mine. Was subtitled but the story and effects were excellent and in this one no one survives..... In most always have few survive or the survivors get organised and film ends with them fighting back.

mainstream is a little hit n miss but there have been some goodies. im yet to see zombieland, thats on my list next. woody harrelsons one of my fave actors aswell

hitting the report button the non-zombie relatedness of these inaccurate responses!!!!!!!!- get real zombies are zombies...not in the same league as mutants/infecteds or in fact 'the crazies'-which are just people who become infected by a pyscho-infector.

I take it less seriously but am a pedant and have to agree with fuck.

Zombies are reanimated corpses ergo they are the living, walking or un dead.

Depends how you like your zombies.

Fast paced ones in 28days later

Ones that have weird creatures in Resident evil

Or

the ones we would all much rather have if there was a real-life outbreak of zombies, Zombieland/Dawn of the dead

and don't forget the pet/maid zombie Fido

We went to the premiere of "Cockneys vs. Zombies", and although the film didn't have any real climax, it was still funny and gory as Hell! (Plus we got to perv over Michelle Ryan, as she was there).

Although it's not technically a zombie film, I'd still say "28 Days Later" is my favourite. I suppose it's more terrifying because they're unbelievably quick, whereas you would be able to out-run most typical zombies.
