What kind of friend do you prefer around you?

Is honesty always the best policy or do you bend the truth if you think it may be difficult to hear?

I do always tell my opinion whether they like it or not, but more in a way of letting them see things from a different perspective

I’m never judgy tho as I don’t like judgy people when it comes to judging someone’s behaviour x we all do shitty things eventually or make poor decisions so

I tend to be that kind of fried tho who supports emotionally my closest friends x

I'm honest and will say what I believe to be true. I have said things to friends in the past that I know they don't want to hear but I believed they needed to hear. I try to be the best friend I can be. The same as I try to be the person I can be.

Much like anyone else I'd like to think I can be a good friend at times but I also know that sometimes I fail spectacularly at it - I'm flawed, a work in progress and so are my relationships.

I am loyal to my friends, the sort of cheerleader that you need sometimes, I have endless time for them and will support them in any way possible when I know that help is welcome. I'm also rather blunt and direct and if a friend asks me something I'll tell them if they are being a twunt. That doesn't mean I won't be there for them (depending on twunt level) but I will call it out, depending on the appropriateness of response.

Well that's how I'd like to think I am on my good days.

I like friends who give me a safe space to be me, who are honest and free of mind games. The ones who might challenge me but will also hold my hand when I'm not sure what step to take next. And make me laugh, give me that warm feeling. You know when you talk to someone and it's effortless? You don't need to worry that time has lapsed because it works. And they lift you up. Those are the friends I like around me.

I tend to let them get on with things. I'm pretty shit. A lazy friend. If they come to me for support I'll be there but I don't force myself on people in case it isn't wanted. To some that might seem like I don't care. That isn't necessarily the case but it's how I am.

Well sometimes people are going through a hard time - they are going through the end of a relationship, lost a job, grieving... whatever. And if they act a bit twunty then I'd kind of understand it and be less potentially likely to add to their sad because it wouldn't be fair of me to. Obviously it's situational though.

I'm loyal, fiercely protective, and bluntly honest. I'm also really pragmatic and good at sorting shit out and giving kicks up the arse. If they need me I will drop everything in an instant and go to them....BUT, I'm also really shit at keeping in touch, stubborn, and rarely reach out and let them know if I'm not okay. I value honesty greatly, and those that know me well know that I appreciate them being blunt, especially if I'm being a dick. I'm also the friend that will encourage them to do stupid shit just for the sheer fun of it

I'm loyal and supportive to a fault. I've often put the needs of others before my own but I'm getting better at being a little more selfish.

I don't tell my friends what I think they want to hear.

I tell them what they need to hear in my opinion and offer genuine advice.

I expect similar traits in those I call friends but unfortunately my expectations aren't always met.

Sometimes friends will ignore my advice simply because they have already made their decisions and were hoping I would agree even when I can see nothing but a car crash ahead.

That's usually when they become fair-weather friends and move on to others who will tell them everything they want to hear.

I would say I'm very honest. I don't tend to hold back if something is bothering me and I wouldn't lie to keep a friend happy. I am very supportive though even if they're being a bit of a twat, because at the end of the day they are my friend for a reason.

I'd say I'm the kind of friend you can always rely on. If you're special to me I will always go out of my way for you and be here if you need me. I don't shut up talking and I'm pretty easy going.

"I'm loyal, fiercely protective, and bluntly honest. I'm also really pragmatic and good at sorting shit out and giving kicks up the arse. If they need me I will drop everything in an instant and go to them....BUT, I'm also really shit at keeping in touch, stubborn, and rarely reach out and let them know if I'm not okay. I value honesty greatly, and those that know me well know that I appreciate them being blunt, especially if I'm being a dick. I'm that one they come to when they have a problem to discuss, or they're down.

I don't drink, so I'm never asked to go to a stag do, even though i've been to all their weddings. They probably know that it wouldn't be my cup of tea at all.

One thing I've started to do is tell one particular friend that I don't want to keep having the same conversations with him. He was repeatedly ringing me to complain, however taking no responsibility to better the situation, (I mean literally none. Which is ridiculous.)

I call my Friends out, just was I would anyone else I was interacting with. The beauty of doing this with friends is that they already know I’m a c**t, so it comes as no surprise, whereas for everyone else it’s a bit of a shocker

I prefer people calling me out too.

I firmly believe that we all have all much healthier relationships with people if we are making decision about that relationship on the basis of honest/open communication , rather than a veiled perception of reality that most friends “give”

Blunt, honest and opinionated but my closest friends know this about me and still love me thank god! Probably why I don’t make many new friends though haha.

I’m always the one putting the kettle on and doing the babysitting so they can have a night out or an evening with their other half to relax too so I’m a pretty good friend I’d say! Oh and I’m a feeder and always keep in the teas and coffees preferred by each of them

I’m sure they mainly tolerate me because I always have biscuits

I'd like to think I'm one of those friends that you may not talk to for forever and a day, but if you called at two in the morning, I'd be there.

I do believe honesty is the best policy with your friends, but would bend truths if it were for the greater good.
