The right place

Has anyone been to church, mosque, temple etc this week?

If so, what do you like most about it?

No op.

Before swinging I used to teach Sunday School as you may recall op.

The day after I first went to a swinging club and - shall we say - fully embraced the experience - I taught Sunday school.

I felt very uncomfortable being in church and decided that there was a definite conflict of interest and ‘one had to go’ - so Sunday school went!

I know others who still go to church and have no issue with them - but every church I’ve set foot in preaches that sex should only be enjoyed within a monogamous marriage. I felt it would be hypocritical in the extreme to keep attending - and teaching doctrines I no longer believed in to young children.

I do remember! And I respect the integrity of that decision.

I’ve not been to church for years either but not just for that reason.

I regularly attended the Sunday school attached to the particular branch of Quakers that my parents belonged to until I was 12. Since then I've probably attended services in churches three or four times since then and have visited Hindu temples and churches out of interest loads of times.

According to the bible you don't need to be in a church to worship "where are two or three gathered in my name, there am I among them". That stuff sticks

I find it easiest to have a sense of worship on my own up a mountain these days. Even two or three can spoil the mood!

I was about to say the same thing. I've posted before about a place in Ashdown Forest where the trees form a "cathedral". I'm okay with Mr N being there obvs but pesky other people with their talking and walking loudly...no thanks

I worship nature and the elements. I only need the outdoors. I don't need a church
