"A tailored shirt isn't as expensive as you think but you could also buy off the peg and get a tailor to alter it. " Would £50 be enough to have one tailored?

"A tailored shirt isn't as expensive as you think but you could also buy off the peg and get a tailor to alter it. Would £50 be enough to have one tailored?" No I don't think so. Two years ago a tailor in Brighton was making bespoke shirts for around £150. Do you know anybody who would do alterations?

"Look on YouTube at how to take in your shirts yourself. You might find it's quite simple. " Probably needs a couple of darts altered in the back and seams taken in. Someone who knows what they're doing could do that I reckon

"I used to really struggle until I started getting them at TM Lewin. I've settled on a 17.5inch neck and fitted. That's too tight on the neck to close the top button but that's irrelevant as I hate ties its not really relevant! From memory they do a slim fit as well but that has narrow arms and was a waste of time. The fitted had a bit of a taper to it but pretty broad shoulders and the arms are a good size for me. By that I mean they make my arms look big without cutting off blood flow The regular isn't too bad but it's "generous" around the waist. I didn't even bother trying on the biggest sizes. I think they go up to an 19inch neck. " That's my problem! I have a 30" waist so nothing fits properly!

I'm not sure if they still have any physical stores left but if they do they always had a full range of plain white shirts to try on in tbe neck and fit sizes. That's what worked for me. The Fitted one is decent. fairly narrow waste like the slim but much broader shoulders and more generous arms
