Can you buy a fitted shirt of the rack

Or do you need to have it tailored?

I had to throw out my white shirt as it didn't fit me well around the waist area and now want to buy a new one.

Is there a certain cut with them like it is with jeans or will I just have to get my measurements checked and order a custom fit?

T shirts yes. shirts, no, as my arms are too big for the sleeves, so rarely buy full sleeve shirts.

Boxers, I have to cut a split up the leg sometimes because of my quads lol

A tailored shirt isn't as expensive as you think but you could also buy off the peg and get a tailor to alter it.

Would £50 be enough to have one tailored?

I bought a brand new T.M.Lewin women's shirt in a charity shop that could have been made for me.

Would £50 be enough to have one tailored?"

No I don't think so. Two years ago a tailor in Brighton was making bespoke shirts for around £150. Do you know anybody who would do alterations?

anything but posh.

I thought you might think £500 or something.

Alterations are fairly costly too but it might be worth you checking a tailor or making a flying visit to Hong Kong

True. There are a few tailors round here, I don't know what their prices are like.

I've noticed a lot more tailors recently

.

If it was something you wanted to do would you consider tailor made? It's really worth it.

Look on YouTube at how to take in your shirts yourself.

You might find it's quite simple.

Fuck no, I wouldn't spend more than £65 on a shirt and for £65 I would have to REALLY like it!

Probably needs a couple of darts altered in the back and seams taken in. Someone who knows what they're doing could do that I reckon

I used to really struggle until I started getting them at TM Lewin.

I've settled on a 17.5inch neck and fitted. That's too tight on the neck to close the top button but that's irrelevant as I hate ties its not really relevant!

From memory they do a slim fit as well but that has narrow arms and was a waste of time. The fitted had a bit of a taper to it but pretty broad shoulders and the arms are a good size for me. By that I mean they make my arms look big without cutting off blood flow

The regular isn't too bad but it's "generous" around the waist. I didn't even bother trying on the biggest sizes.

I think they go up to an 19inch neck.

That's my problem! I have a 30" waist so nothing fits properly!

I'm not sure if they still have any physical stores left but if they do they always had a full range of plain white shirts to try on in tbe neck and fit sizes. That's what worked for me.

The Fitted one is decent. fairly narrow waste like the slim but much broader shoulders and more generous arms

Two shops I use do free alterations… can pick up a designer shirt for about £50-60 and then get it altered to desired fit
