Do you have an expensive taste and if so,what particularly do think think you got an expensive taste?

I think I have generally quite an expensive taste hut particularly when it comes to accessories (bags, sunglasses, earrings)

Also got quite a taste for expensive holidays and adore treating myself to business class flights x

Not so much expensive taste for food/drinks x

I haven't got expensive taste when I am prepared to part with my money. I am drawn to the more costly items but will refuse to pay those prices.

Mirabelle in Curzon Street was good (when it was open), but it's not something I'd do regularly - more as a treat - not least because it's incompatible with my exercise goals.

Nope. You'll find me in the charity shop or car boot sale, I don't care. I'm not cheap either, but I'm not paying over the odds for anything. I'll wait for you lot to finish with it and I'll snap it up in the charity shop for a fraction of the price

I don't think I have expensive tastes, but it varies from person to person what that means.

I tend to go for quality, so I will buy a wool coat, last one I bought has lasted over 10 years, same as my leather boots only had to have heels redone.

I guess my most expensive purchases is my art again bought about 20 years ago. But then I don't change the decor of my house much and buy new prints with each new trend.

I’m not sure I have expensive taste but I do have good taste. High price doesn’t always equate to high quality. The Grey Goose vodka brand were struggling to make inroads in the supermarket drinks market until some bright spark suggested doubling the price to make it appear more exclusive….and it worked. Most of us know nothing about wine and so, when in a restaurant we pick the mid-price offering as the cheap stuff must be awful and the expensive stuff is for the big-time Charlies.

When I worked offshore, I had disposable income so I would treat myself regular. Not always something expensive, but if I seen something I liked and had enough for it, I'd buy it. Now that I work for myself, I'm a bit more cautious with my spending!

Having said that, I've always had as nice a car as I could afford and I'd always spend a little extra to customize it slightly so it stood out a little more!

As for horses....why is it that year ago, only the poor had horses and the rich had cars? Now, only the rich have horses?!

Having horses and kids means I have to walk around barefoot in rags

Charity shops all the way for me. I wont buy cheap stuff, its never worth it really, but I get to get good quality, already comfy and worn in for me stuff at a fraction of the new prices. Keeps me happy

Le Creuset has some wonderful pieces! Tk Maxx quite often has good items in from their range, depending on colour preferences.

I wouldn't say I have expensive taste per se... I like nice things but I also like getting significant discounts on them because I'd rather pay off the mortgage early. I do like nice food and will pay a bit more for that. Oh and hotels, I'm probably a bit of a snobby twunt when it comes to those. It's not that they are expensive, it's more the quality. So charity shops and car boot sales and ebay, I enjoy all that if I can find good quality items.

I'm the opposite. I go for supermarket own-brands, £100 smartphones, Primark and Florence & Fred and most tech I get I buy 2nd hand.

In the days of DVD, I'd always wait 6 months for new releases to drop in price.

I wouldn't be seen dead in Ray Bans since it's just a name you're paying for and sunglasses a fraction of the price are just as good.

Rolex watch? My cheap watch does the job and it tells exactly the same time!

Why people pay hundreds of pounds on trainers, just so that they can tell people how expensive they were, always makes me laugh. The companies making trainers are "playing" the stupid.

I think it depends on the stuff we are interested in. I wouldn't have a clue what brand a person's watch, clothing,shoes or sunglasses are for example but will happily spend money on sporting equipment. In part I am happy to pay for performance but I am aware that the latest style/fashion in the areas I'm interested in will catch my attention. I like to believe that I am savvy enough to not be swayed by the advertising blurb though that promises this new bit of equipment will somehow make you climb/run/cycle/swim like a pro but I'm definitely more gullible than I would like. Cycling is one area I refuse to be drawn in. I firmly believe that even if I charge my time at £40/hour I will always see more gains by giving up time to train than I ever will working to pay for more kit - that doesn't mean that a £10k bike isn't sexy as fuck though

It’s a lot, like I was sayin, oat is the fruit of the fields. There’s oat- kabobs, oat creole, oat gumbo, There’s pineapple oats, lemon oats, coconut oats, pepper oats, oat soup, oat stew, oat salad, oat and potatoes, oat burgers, oat sandwich, Hall and Oats and finally Captain Oats. That, that’s about it.

I'm fairly confident that most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Grey Goose and Sainsbury's own brand vodkas.

The 'exclusivity' and 'price gouging' also works well with holidays and, latterly, watches.

I like caviar and Champagne but see them as luxuries, not everyday requirements.

All of my suits and shirts are bespoke (Hong Kong and Singapore) but the suits are always purchased with two pairs of trousers so each suit will last for at least 10 - 15 years.

My shoes and boots are, initially, expensive but get re-heeled and the soles replaced so they last for several years as decent leather polish looks after the uppers.

I'll opt for business class seats if I'm flying transatlantic or more than one sector but, for a trip to Rome etc, economy works for me.

I like the understated service and surroundings of luxury hotels but I'm equally prepared to stay in a quirky motel/ hotel.

I think, in general, I'm in the 'value for money' cadre. I hate paying over the odds for anything but I will purchase things that can be repaired, will last for years or will hold their value (e.g. certain watches). Very much a product of my parents and grandparents.

to be fair I agree with the flights x if I fly transatlantic I’ll do my best to get on business as having a bed is literally a necessity haha x

I can tell my expensive taste doesn’t particularly reach the food and drink as I can’t stand champers (I can only drink a quarter glass and I’m done… I’m a Prosecco girl as it goes down like water) and caviar i can’t stand lol haha x

I’ve got expensive taste that if I was in a shop with ten bags you could guarantee I’d pick up the most expensive, I always seem to be drawn to what costs the most lol but I wouldn’t just shop somewhere because it’s expensive that’s for sure, I’d go in every shop and see what I like. There’s the saying buy cheap buy twice but that’s not always true I’ve got some socks I’ve had for years

Kind of got a thing for nice cars and watches but wouldn’t opt to go for an expensive restaurant, happy to go for pub meals and the local Indian restaurant etc. I’d rather have a good old stodgy meal than go somewhere that you have to look for the steak under one potato and a green bean and costs you triple figures just because of the name

No I can't see the money in expensive things. Maybe if I had money to burn I'd just buy anything without looking at the price tag but until then no I think most expensive things are way over priced for what they are.

Also I think it's easy for people on a monthly wage to say I'll buy this and that etc.. But when you are self employed and you don't know when the next penny is going to come, you value money a lot more.

Sent my son shopping and he came back witb 3 big bag fulls of sainsburys basic oats. Was like eating horse bedding, still picking it out my teeth 3 months later

I manage to gravitate towards expensive suits, clothes, Shoes and watches too!

I was once in a shop and asked cos I liked the cut of the suit (as it was well made), how much was it? It turned out it was an "Armani" suit @ £600.

I jokingly asked the assistant "flippin' eck does it gobble me off & turn into my wife the next day?"

He didn't think that was funny by the way....!

I went to another suit shop & bought 2 cheaper suits for £200/£300. They looked just as good as the other.

I go on cruises when I can. Try to ensure minimum of balcony cabin. Will not do inside. Plus drinks inclusive and fine dining. So can use any restaurant onboard for free. It actually can save money

My friend runs marathons and he’s just give in last week and bought the 4% but it’s crazy he runs enough miles that every 2 months he has to buy new running shoes (150-250) a pair. He said the 4% are only been used on track days. Doesn’t wanna waste miles and tread on shitty pavement.

I wasn't having a pop at you Kylie, just recounting my personal experience in that they added short term 'fixes', but longer term they added nothing to me on any meaningful level

I'd have been better investing or saving so I could retire earlier than 60

I do, however, have some great holiday memories

Haha I use a brand called supplement needs. Protein, sleep stacks, pre workout etc costs me 200£ a month easy but bodybuilding is an expensive sport haha.

I'd say I go more for 'good value' than expensive. I like to buy food from the deli counter at M&S because it's good and I can afford it. But I wouldn't buy the vegetables there just for the sake of it when I can buy the same while I'm in Asda.

Flight: long distance then yes, business class where possible. For short-haul, an economy seat does the job perfectly well. Same on trains.

I wouldn't say my taste in clothes is expensive, but I do go for quality over cheap for most things, but whether you'd call an M&S shirt or underwear expensive taste depends on your point of view I guess. Shoes I'm happy to spend a fair bit on, they get well used so have to be good.

I do have a couple of nice watches, but they work just as well as my 'everyday' ones.

And food, again quality over any kind of snobbery. I do enjoy a nice restaurant, but not at any cost.

...that said, @sexycatkylie it probably wouldn't take much more than the flutter of eyelids and the promise of a goodnight kiss to get me to take you to a nice restaurant. I might even buy you a new (very short, very skimpy...) dress to wear
