Picked up a fully valeted, polished 18 plate the other week. After a few days we went to a restaurant for my birthday. Parked it well away from other the cars. Returned to find someone had scraped the front passenger wheel arch. Aarghh!

How quick did you trash something nice?

Still one of the most upsetting object related incidents was when we had strong winds just three weeks after my mum paid for a lovely new gazebo for my garden. It got blown across the garden (despite being fixed), all the metal was twisted and it had to be scrapped. Still upsets me to think about it seven years on!

I did exactly that.. had the phone a week. It might have survived if I hadn't trodden on it.

This year I put up a cheapish polytunnel on my allotment. Steel framed. Next day the winds came. In the morning I went to survey the damage. It wasn’t there. Everything inside was untouched.

I found it several plots away with no trail in between. It had literally lifted snapping the tough nylon tie downs in the process. Just landed on a few bean sticks. But it could have landed on a lot more .

I'm gonna have to have my drive widened for mine

I'm getting anxious about driving it now if it's so much wider than my current car .. I've not even seen it in real life yet, just a photo/video online

I had a fully glazed huge greenhouse at least 10x6ft in my allotment ... It got lifted and twisted in a storm one night.. Completely trashed the frame, glass and all the plants

My uncle bought a brand new BMW M5. After doing the paperwork he pulled out onto the road and gunned it. He went off on the first corner and down a ditch and hit a tree. He was ok but the car was an insurance write off. So he bought a Volvo instead.

My first ever branded trainers when in junior school. A pair of Reebok classics, bought on Saturday, taken to school on Monday to wear after taking my wellies off, lost one out my bag on the way home. Gutted, I had to wait until the summer before I got a new pair.

Tied one of those sail things for shade outside.

I think it wasn't put up properly as it rained hard the next day and it filled with water and collapsed

It could still be a thing. I last had one stolen in about 2010.

1 week, bought a new car parked in on the road outside house rather than on the drive as I was going back out and neighbour across the road backed out of their drive straight into it.

Who steals car radios these days? What do they do with them as there can't be a vehicle on the road which hadn't already got one fitted.
