when did you last have a change of mind and what was it about? I am not talking about what you will have for dinner but more about a certain view on something.

What caused you to change your mind?

Or do you tend to stick by what you have always believed in?

.

There are some things that I'll never, ever change my mind about but others it's far more flexible. I'm constantly learning and growing so with that comes me being quite open minded and willing to listen to other view points. Experience oft leads to me changing my mind as well.

The last time? Yeah, I'm not posting that on here.

A belief is just that, a personal opinion, and it should always be open to reconsideration in light of new facts and experiences. I actually think seeing things from a new perspective is really stimulating and exciting and I hope I'm always open to that possibility.

I won't derail the thread with politics but I've changed my mind on several big issues in recent years, and I'm sure I will do again !

I used to be against certain types of affirmative action until I learned more about the disadvantaged certain demographics have faced that spam across generations and still effect them now even a long time after things have changed

I tend to not change my mind... I think? I'm not sure?

I've decided, I mostly go with what I originally decided 50% of the time

I would agree with you - I have changed my mind on things I never expected to, politics being amongst those things.

So you are saying you have moved a bit from a previously adopted mindset and became open to looking at causes. That is awesome I think because for me, it is one thing having an opinion, it is another to be open about the possibility things might actually be different.

I guess after a change of mind and then after a little while the originally assumed position could be back as the better option?

I think changing your mind can show you’re not afraid to admit you were wrong, or that new facts have come to light, or that you changed. It can also take courage to admit you were wrong.

I don’t understand people who say they never change their mind, it seems to be a very fixed mindset.

I think you have a valid point over realising that you have been wrong and then admitting that and changing your mind. It takes balls, doesn't it?

It’s the very definition of closed mindedness.

When the facts change, my mid changes.

For me, it was whether I'd be okay with a gf dating other ppl.

Yes, if you are wrong! But changing your mind doesn't always mean you're in the wrong. You might change your mind to appease a situation if the outcome is likely to prove difficult. Or stick with your guns and see it through!

I think it all depends on the circumstance.

Sounds like the general consensus suggests changing one's mind is not a bad thing and depending on the specific situation.

I have changed my mind a fair few times in my life and have made mistakes in the process - all part of growing up I guess?

Could not have imagined i would be on a swingers site a few years ago. But that was more to do with not even knowing swingers really existed other than some hazy idea about car keys in a bowl.

Seriously - me neither! I remember watching a program on Hedonism with my then husband many years ago and I was quite shocked (but not disgusted!!

I have changed my mind about really significant issues a few times in my life. Sometimes it has been joyful and other times extremely painful. But once you see you can’t unsee, once you know you can’t unknow.

Personal development is a process of evolving consciousness. I definitely don’t want to stop learning and growing.
