"There are some things that I'll never, ever change my mind about but others it's far more flexible. I'm constantly learning and growing so with that comes me being quite open minded and willing to listen to other view points. Experience oft leads to me changing my mind as well. The last time? Yeah, I'm not posting that on here. " The mind boggles...;-)

"A belief is just that, a personal opinion, and it should always be open to reconsideration in light of new facts and experiences. I actually think seeing things from a new perspective is really stimulating and exciting and I hope I'm always open to that possibility. I won't derail the thread with politics but I've changed my mind on several big issues in recent years, and I'm sure I will do again ! " I would agree with you - I have changed my mind on things I never expected to, politics being amongst those things.

"I used to be against certain types of affirmative action until I learned more about the disadvantaged certain demographics have faced that spam across generations and still effect them now even a long time after things have changed " So you are saying you have moved a bit from a previously adopted mindset and became open to looking at causes. That is awesome I think because for me, it is one thing having an opinion, it is another to be open about the possibility things might actually be different.

"I tend to not change my mind... I think? I'm not sure? I've decided, I mostly go with what I originally decided 50% of the time Claire " I guess after a change of mind and then after a little while the originally assumed position could be back as the better option?

"I think changing your mind can show you’re not afraid to admit you were wrong, or that new facts have come to light, or that you changed. It can also take courage to admit you were wrong. I don’t understand people who say they never change their mind, it seems to be a very fixed mindset. " I think you have a valid point over realising that you have been wrong and then admitting that and changing your mind. It takes balls, doesn't it?

For me, it was whether I'd be okay with a gf dating other ppl.

But changing your mind doesn't always mean you're in the wrong. You might change your mind to appease a situation if the outcome is likely to prove difficult. Or stick with your guns and see it through! I think it all depends on the circumstance.

"Could not have imagined i would be on a swingers site a few years ago. But that was more to do with not even knowing swingers really existed other than some hazy idea about car keys in a bowl. " Seriously - me neither! I remember watching a program on Hedonism with my then husband many years ago and I was quite shocked (but not disgusted!!
