Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes - If You Don’t Know Me By Now, was mine and my ex husbands song.

Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton, I still love this tune now

My first ever slow dance was with my friend's older sister. I was besotted with her. She asked me to dance when "Groovy kind of love" came on. Felt 10 feet tall that night.

I don’t recall ever slow dancing when I was younger. I think I’ve probably only done it once or twice ever.

"Oh lord, the Erection Section!

"

I still call it that too

But as someone said above, it's never been my scene especially. Hardly ever been asked, and never had the nerve to ask anyone else so I was one of the saddo's hovering around the edge of the dance floor.

This isn't a request for sympathy to by the way, just an honest assessment of my own social awkwardness and occasional inadequacy

You mean nights in white satin, coz knights in white satin seems like a weird thing to write a song about!

Move Closer - Phyllis Nelson, I can almost feel the 18 year old me’s erection pressing into my dance partner at the time.
