How do you conquer them?

Do you get them?

I’ve been doing this a few years now and don’t usually get nervous aside from the odd last minute wobble.

I'm not sure how to conquer them but I find that the nerves gradually subside on their own as the meet goes on.

I always get nervous before a meet those nervous, happy butterflies.

Aww OP, good luck with your social/dalliance, I'm sure it will go well!

I still get them now, even if I've met the person several times already. I like them though, I try and frame it as being adrenaline/excitement and see it as flutters of happiness rather than nerves. Having a couple of minutes to yourself when you arrive at wherever can help, do some grounding breathing exercises as well. Good luck!

I dunno if I'm just weird or wired different to other people but I've never felt nerves meeting somebody new, because it's beyond my control whether they fancy me or not. I can't make it happen. If it does I'll obviously put it down to my awesome charm but if it doesn't, well it was never meant to be.

I don't really get nervous. I normally only meet people who I really click with from chatting and I make a decision on people very quickly about whether I'll vibe with them or not. Very rarely, if ever, wrong about it.

I just make sure I'm freshly showered, dressed nice, smell good and keep an open mind and remind myself I'm going to meet someone who WANTED to meet me.

Pre jitters are pretty normal aren't they? It's only natural to feel nervous before any meet anyway, even more so if you're an introvert or shy person to begin with. End of the day, just be yourself, try to relax and enjoy yourself

Get them every single time! I think that’s why I prefer spontaneous meets so, I don’t have too much build up of nerves! Prefer sober meets & I have to hide my shaking hands! The adrenaline rush is a bit addictive though, don’t you think?xx

We’ve talked enough to know we get on I’m sure there won’t be any awkward silences etc it’s just that thing of what if he doesn’t fancy me or what if I don’t live up to expectations etc. I’m shitting it. Usually I wouldn’t care but I quite like this one. Hehe

Thanks for all your kind words and advice. Neither of us are big drinkers else I’d have a few to calm the nerves. I think I’m just gonna have to cope with the butterfly’s be myself and hope for the best.

There is always some nerves. No matter how confident. If in vanilla world then very different . First approach chat to break ice etc. Even if say introduced. ?

Gin!

Not too many though, just enough to take the edge off.

I’d be very surprised if anyone meeting somebody new in this world doesn’t feel some kind of trepidation beforehand, it’s completely natural and healthy. Just enjoy the feeling, it’ll make you feel alive

I think having not done this for so long due to Covid it’s adding to the nerves. Definitely will suggest we have one or two drinks but not too many want to remember it!

I don't get nervous for a social - if I'm meeting up it's because I like the conversation we've had and I want more of it.

I do get nervous meeting someone new for more than a social.

The first time I take my clothes off with someone I am normally pretty terrified because a part of me things he's going to take one look and start pulling his clothes back on having changed his mind.

Once I get past that I'm normally OK.

I don't think I'd want to lose the nerves completely; they're part of the excitement.

Yes that’s a bit me …

I’m mostly cool as a cucumber, take it all in my stride but very occasionally I get nervous, self doubt sets in and I second guess myself. Always when I’m rather crushing on the guy or attending parties where I don’t know anyone.

A stern talking to (myself) usually sorts it out and normal service can resume

We don't get nervous as such... more like a few butterflies or a tad over excited.

I think for us it's a little easier being a couple and having eachother to keep calm and the nervesat bay. It must be so nerve wracking for the girls we meet coming to meet a couple by themselves.

That's why we always try to be as friendly and chatty as possible even if we ourselves are a little fluttered
