My biggest turn off without a doubt is bad manners!

I'm a barman in Tenerife so I do encounter this a lot,

but I can look at a lady sat in the bar, usually 45+, as I have a thing for older ladies! And then I serve them, and I am very polite and professional (most of the time

) and they can be rude (again, this is not everybody, just a certain few) and I am just totally turned off!

Is this just me haha!

I was in a club, once. There was a young woman in her twenties who was absolutely beautiful. So pretty I couldn’t stop staring. She was getting lots of attention, understandably.

After forty minutes, I watched her become the ugliest person in the room, due to a rude, sneering, entitled attitude.

As if I needed further evidence, it proved that good looks have nothing to do with beauty.

Unfortunately in an instant-gratification society, this is likely to be the reality. It takes too long these days to find out if people are nice on the inside, when it is far too easy to convince people you are nice on the outside

Exactly this. Like what does he want for god sake. People to kneel and thank him until he decides they aren't rude. Do ya job pal and leave people alone

Absolutely, I’ve seen this a few times too and yeah, it is ugly to see especially with people with stinking attitudes x

This. I work in a similar role myself so whenever I need to call a customer service line I'm never rude to the agent on the phone.

There's no point in getting all shouty as it just discourages them to be helpful.

Because he was specifically talking about how he found he attractive, then the rudeness turned him off

Wouldn’t be the same story if he wasn’t attracted to her in the first place

The ones that are so polite it hurts.

Or so rude it’s hard to understand

I only did a few years in the service industry and I hated every minute of it. But the really nice ones do make your day sometimes

Probably a result of poor service or maybe just having a bad day but try to remember Not everyone wants to be tune on buy you so grow up or change your career..

Totally agree worked as both a waitress and bar maid. The way I have been spoken to by people like I'm their maid, it's absolutely disgusting. And I've never tried it on with a customer but was constantly harassed by men.

That's interesting. I'd count myself as belonging to the "older generation" I haven't noticed this among my peers. I have noticed it with the generation above me though. My mum is very polite and will always say please and thank you but she literally has no filter any more and can be staggeringly rude without even realising it. I think that some inhibitions are lowered with many older people but I also think some of them feel they've lived long enough not to bother with being polite any longer
