"My biggest turn off without a doubt is bad manners! I'm a barman in Tenerife so I do encounter this a lot, but I can look at a lady sat in the bar, usually 45+, as I have a thing for older ladies! And then I serve them, and I am very polite and professional (most of the time That's not bad manners. She's just not in to you and wants you to leave her alone.

Do ya job pal and leave people alone Claire

"I was in a club, once. There was a young woman in her twenties who was absolutely beautiful. So pretty I couldn’t stop staring. She was getting lots of attention, understandably. After forty minutes, I watched her become the ugliest person in the room, due to a rude, sneering, entitled attitude. As if I needed further evidence, it proved that good looks have nothing to do with beauty." Absolutely, I’ve seen this a few times too and yeah, it is ugly to see especially with people with stinking attitudes x

"Until you've worked in customer service role I don't think you can fully appreciated just how rude some humans are. They come in all shapes, sizes and ages." This. I work in a similar role myself so whenever I need to call a customer service line I'm never rude to the agent on the phone. There's no point in getting all shouty as it just discourages them to be helpful.

These people should stay indoors - sad lot!

Just that he was a barman that served her and she was rude You’ve made up and added this detail where he was trying it on and she wasn’t interested That wasn’t part of the story at all Maybe he served her the drink, asked if she needed anything else and she rudely ignored him? Stop picking fights/arguments you make up in your head and instead tackle what was actually says, or ask more questions to find out the details you need before you get annoyed The irony when it’s a thread talking about rudeness

If you want to feel you've won, crack on. I've got better things to do than debate with you over something do inconsequential. Have a lovely day thicca

"In my dealings and experience with the public, I've found that it is the older generation who are worst with bad manners. It doesn't hurt and takes two seconds to say please or thank you." I always found older people to either be 2 extremes The ones that are so polite it hurts. Or so rude it’s hard to understand I only did a few years in the service industry and I hated every minute of it. But the really nice ones do make your day sometimes

"Until you've worked in customer service role I don't think you can fully appreciated just how rude some humans are. They come in all shapes, sizes and ages." Totally agree worked as both a waitress and bar maid. The way I have been spoken to by people like I'm their maid, it's absolutely disgusting. And I've never tried it on with a customer but was constantly harassed by men.

They were either the loveliest or the most grumpy, rarely anything in between but these were pensioners.

I'd count myself as belonging to the "older generation" I haven't noticed this among my peers. I have noticed it with the generation above me though. My mum is very polite and will always say please and thank you but she literally has no filter any more and can be staggeringly rude without even realising it. I think that some inhibitions are lowered with many older people but I also think some of them feel they've lived long enough not to bother with being polite any longer
