I tried to order my Christmas cards last night, and realised they are not on special offer yet, and shall wait until they are discounted as I still have plenty of time.

little house on the praire

I am not a christmas person, but for some unknown reason im looking forward to it this year, think its cause im completely organized. Just got to find my stuff for the tree out the shed. Also ive started giving people one more expensive present, than a present and smaller ones to make the money up. It worked out really well last year.

Can't wait for this christmas...the first one where I don't have to suffer anyone else but me n the kids...looking forward to lazily opening presents when we wake up and then eating when I can be arsed to get dinner cooked by....then slobbing in front of the tv for the rest of the night with a large bottle of baileys and some crap on tv....first christmas alone and at home in sixteeen years....

I shan't be camping this Christmas as the holidays are in the middle of the week, and am camping over the New Year instead and booked Mon 31 Dec off a year ago for the purpose!

Planned my menu for Christmas Day:

Baked mini brie or Camembert with toasted Ciabatta fingers

Roast duck with orange, mango and onion jam, roast potatoes and parsnip, and pan-fried vegetables

Eaton Mess for dessert

Yum yum!

I'm not doing Christmas this year.

I'll need to stay home to look after my cats anyway, like last year.

I had lasagne for Christmas dinner last year.

Glasgow

We always start Christmas shopping in January.

We buy smelly sets and perfume/aftershave sets in the january sales every year to store away for Christmas. Just started getting the younger ones pressies in and then we'll look at getting the bigger things in over the next couple of months.

When the kids were younger I admit I was part of the onslaught - no more! We do have huge family reun ions but everybody helps out and we dont bother with pressies as such. Makes life wonderful for me

I have become more humbug every year and last year I didn't bother buying presents for the adults and just gave a £20 voucher to each of my 5 grandchildren. Got a few bits for my little lad, didn't bother with Christmas dinner...just ate when we fancied something. I prefer Boxing Day and a generous buffet table with friends/family.
