Shaun of the dead is the greatest British film ever

The chemistry between pegg and frost, the film references too numerous, the comedy, the heartbreak, the horror and the cleverness of the film, you can have multiple viewings and still see something new.....

Leon

My 2nd favourite film, for me it's so stylish, the cast are amazing, from a young natalie Portman, a brilliant Gary oldman and a absolutely cool Jean Reno

The opening scene where leon takes down the room full of gangsters is very cool, some great scenes, oldman conducting Beethoven to the final heartbreaking scene where leon detonates a grenade "for mathilda"

Go watch it

Next...music

The Doors

What cam I say about...robbie,ray,John and Jim?

The music, the lyrics,the look

From rock to psychedelic to love

From blues to soaring musical riffs, the music on the albums sounds live

From the fresh voiced Jim to the Marlboro voice towards the end...

He was the lizard king and THEY could do anything x

Every album is amazing

The live album with Jim egging on the crowd is absolutely brilliant

But most surprising for me is that 2 of my favourite songs

Close to you & you need bread

Are sung by keyboardist ray and not Jim!!!!

I agree that Leon is one of the best films ever made.

Shaun of the Dead is pretty funny, but nowhere near the greatest

It’s one of those films that is really good if watched infrequently.

I like Simon Pegg, I particularly liked him in Spaced, but sometimes his over exuberance can get on my tits.

And I am one of those who believe Jim faked his death...why? Because...his manager arrives in Paris to find an incoherent pam not speaking, a sealed coffin with a death certificate signed by 1 doctor when in France you needed 2 signatures and the 1 doctor was never traced...pam took what see knew to her grave,Jim always asked what would happen if he died and his plan was to escape the rock star persona and became the poet living in Morocco

Elvis Presley. Right? Now, I love Elvis. Okay? He fascinates me. He’s, like, the first rock star with the power of television. They just intersected, and he ascended to this level of fame that no one had ever been to before. Hence, he made all the mistakes ’cause there was no one there to help him out. Right? He got a piece-of-sh!t manager that stole from him. Bam! He stopped making music, started making sh!tty movies. He’s not a good actor, right? Does that. Married a minor, started doing drugs, got fat, got an entourage, got even fatter, started wearing onesies, doing karate kicks, splitting his f*cking pants. Nobody’s saying sh!t. “You look good, King!” “You like that? You like when my royal balls hang out?” “We love it, King. Keep f*cking going!” Starts doing pills, gets addicted, he f*cking dies alone on a toilet. All right? This man kicked open all of those f*cking doors for the rest of us. All right?

So books....I'm gonna count 3 as 1 and that's James Herbert's the rats trilogy. The first book about a teacher discovering mutant rats roaming London and feeding on anything or anyone, the 2nd continues that thread but set in epping forest and the 3rd and my favourite we are back in London as nuclear war has forced the humans underground and the rats above ground, such a great horror story written by a classic horror author

My 2nd favourite book is...

Kitchen confidential by Anthony bourdain, this book was a look into the kitchens of new York with rampant sex, alcohol and drugs and being a chef that was kinda what I did during the 90,just not on that scale, one restaurant I worked we would take speed at the weekends and I have little memory of that job, anyway I digress...this book is a bible to people who work in the industry or those with a curious eye to what goes on behind the scenes....a fantastic read that I can reread....RIP chef x
