Nail salon, how much?

Girls, how much do you spend on your nails when going to the salon? And what do you usually get?

I’ve been to different places and feel like prices range SOOO much. Some charge £25 and other £55 or more depending what you need!

I’ve booked an appointment to get some gel (because I’m sick of how normal polish chips off after 5 days of wearing it) and this place charges £42

Which is kinda steep but hey oh

Does anyone else like having designs on them? I might go for it

Particularly interested in the London area and if any has recommendations send them in

But I’m curious to know prices around the country too.

If your after gel polish I would say that is quite expensive but you can get gel nails too which is like extensions so that price may be for them instead. If you like to keep your natural nails then ask for gel polish or shallac. I’m personally not fussed on designs. I usually get acrylic in ombré which look quite natural. I occasionally have colour but I don’t like it clashing with what I wear lol

No it’s just gel, the extension is from £75 . But I don’t like extensions and would keep my natural ones and just do a bit of shaping that’s al x

I’m gonna go for white as I love the contrast but might be a bit adventurous and add a cheeky design on one nail each hand (+£10 for that)

Robbers. To be fair even other places I paid about £35 on avarage and this place I booked with a friend as a treat, is in central central so possibly that. I’ll keep y’all posted!

I was thinking also to get the lamp but Christ, my white nails last 4/5 days at max and then look shocking…

Have to say mine are weak as fook now. Had them done for 20 years. When I went away for a month a couple years ago I didn’t have them as thought they’d look crap after a while and they were so weak! It’ll be a lifetime thing for me.

London prices amaze me.

My daughter paid £90 years ago for a hair cut and blow and thought nothing of it. I paid £10 - £12. She started getting her hair done here every time she visited me. Dread to think what she's paying in London now.

That sounds about right. Depends on type of polish. 29 pounds for the shellac manicure (not just gel application) and 39 for the pedicure. That's CND product and a nice, busy salon. Most salons are similar pricing. But yes you can get it cheaper from people who work from home etc.

Had 2 girlfriends who were nail techs, they charged around £20 for a set of gels but one rented a room in a small town up north, the other works from home. So I'd say the price you got seems fair if its in Central London

Wirral.

I have Shellac lamp, gels & products but I don't often do it, as I can't be arsed.

I did get gel nails done a couple of times prior to lockdown for £20, but I stopped when they just filed the gel off, rather than remove it properly. I guess you get what you paid for x

I got gel nail set with lamp as a gift and it’s great but a lot of work otherwise I’ll get it done for about £25 as I can never agree on one colour. I’d love to get designs but struggle to find somewhere affordable that can do what I want

I get mine gel polished every 3-4 weeks. I don't like designs but I do like glitter. It costs £25.

My daughter gets acrylics & gel polish and it costs £35. She likes getting designs on which my lovely lady doesn't charge extra for as long as she knows in advance what's wanted.

Oh wow it looks lush and expensive but prosecco looks like it may be on the cards. But if you’re looking for a one off treatment look up deals on groupon, treatwell etc

I would love to have nice nails but they don't last on me. Gel, acrylics, fibreglass. Tried them all. Longest I've had a full set last is 2 hours.
