And yes virtually every one messaged to ask why?

Depends on how close we are.

If we've not chatted in weeks then I wouldn't (I'd assume they were culling their list rather than it being personal), but if it's someone I had spoken to within a few days I'd probably want to check I hadn't inadvertently offended.

Just to play devils advocate here. I built up a few friends and initially it would be after passing a few messages and saying the standard "if you're ever passing", then after sending follow up messages and in fact "passing" where they are based so trying to arrange a social you get no reply. What's then the point of being friends? So one by one after hearing nothing for ages I also delete from friends. So if you don't pass messages occasionally you have to ask why are you friends.

Then wait their reply with bated breath.

I've removed people who I think only chatted to get the access to friends only pics. If they stop chatting or replying after I've friended them I get rid.

Just like irl friendship should be two way. If you are the one who always initiates the conversation and it's hard work you can't really call them friends.

In a fab context if you only hear from them when they post a new pic or they need support during their latest drama it's time to hit that delete button.

"Do you ask that person why?"

No. It’s their choice to do so, and we’re sure they have a reason. If it’s something we did or said then it would be useful (but not essential) to know. Particularly if it’s someone we had met for more than social interaction.

We assume our “friends” run a friend list like ourselves. If there is no longer an interest or prospect of meeting or conversation has just faded or not gained any traction to begin with, then off you go!

It takes two to start a friendship but one to end it,

I tend not to even look at my friend's list, for most of the people I chat to regularly, I either do so through other means like watsapp or Kik, or I have still their chat log in my messages.

So if I had someone on my friends list who deleted me I probably wouldn't even know, or care.

I asked him why he had unfriended me ..he replied he didn't know as he didn't have friends in Fab. (he had 1 friend)

A day or so later I remembered that I had actually unfriended HIM myself.... because I didn't like seeing his status,s ect in my update feeds.

Never had an actual friend "unfriend", but plenty of so called Friends unfriend - depends on why they friended you in the first place, on both profiles.

Not worth pursuing it.

Same as being so disliked - not something you should brood over - or loose any sleep over.

"What if your kinda d*unk one Saturday night and Accidentally remove all your friends "

...well judging by all the "I wouldn't notice" and "don't care" comments, this has to be the most genius FR idea that you have stumbled accross!!

*message reads: "Fuck I'm so sorry, I was so d*unk on the weekend I foolishly and accidentally deleted my whole friends list, and you are one of my closest I've sent you a new one so we can reconnect"

Anyone wants to cut and paste that, fill your boots, let me know how you get on!

.

There's a big difference between being actual real friends and ones on a friends list. You can find real friends on Fab, they don't mean less because they aren't on a list.

If they remove me, then they have reason to and that is down to the parties own choice.

I’ve recently removed a friend that continuously adds me as a friend but never replies to messages etc.

"Do you ask that person why?"

Yep. Don’t always get a truthful answer though, including from one, universally loved, firm forum favourite!!

Not overly bothered about it happening but it always nice to get the real reason in case it’s something I’ve done and can avoid in the future.

I’ve had one couple de-friend me, and whilst I was curious, I just assumed they had changed what they were looking for.

It’s people’s prerogative isn’t it.

Nawww...tbh the reason they did so is their's alone,l wouldn't be getting upset, if you have to go down that road and ask what's the point in being a friend with them anyway..it's Fab and tbh ,even if it was in real life l wouldn't be bothered asking there either.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I have only noticed this a couple of times over my time on fab.

One I wondered but turned out he had blocked me, I never did know why.

The other I talk to every day and he asked me why we weren't friends any more. I guess that one was a bug in the matrix somewhere. Or an accidental removal.

We have our reasons at the time. Would feel a little needy asking someone why they removed you especially if you haven’t avent chatted for a while.
