"Best guitarist Prince!" To be honest, his musical abilities are far, far to unknown and underated, agree with you, my friend.

"Tom Verlaine and Television, precisely because he was not everything Mark Knopfler is. Not "tasty", everything he played sounded like a neurosis playing out via a guitar, and magnetic because of it. I do have massive respect for Mr Knopfler too though. Cannot stand Sultans of Swing because it's overplayed, but Lady Writer is a brilliant song, as is Single Handed Sailor. He did steal it all from the master, Richard Thompson, though. " Are you one of those, can't appreciate or love something if everyone else does (see Dave Gorman on David Bowie) I could listen to Sultans of Swing every day, it really annoys me when it's played on the radio because they always cut off the final guitar rift

"Brian May" Dr Brian May, if you don't mind. Apart from complete kudos for finally submitting his PhD thesis and getting his doctorate it's hardly rock and roll ![]()

"Jack White from the White Stripes I watched a documentary called; It Might Get Loud, featuring Jack White, Jimmy Page and the Edge. Page was fascinated with White and his style and it showed White to be creative as footage played of White creating a guitar out of a plank of wood, wire and a bottle " I've The White Stripes live a few times and the sound from just two people was immense! The Dead Weather also amazing! Don't know the names of all guitarists but do like Smashing Pumpkins and The Moody Blues. On the slower chilled side of things Mazzy Star and Trespassers William are amazing too!

Stripes not in my favourite top 5 or even 10 bands that I listen to regularly tbh but still great live! Jack and Meg were married, I doubt they were just for the band's sake!? It is each to their own, we all like different things and different parts to a band that might draw us in to them... it's all good...I love being introduced to new stuff or older stuff I've not come across before! ![]()

"Saw Cozy at monsters if rock playing with Rainbow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ritchie Blackmore at monsters of rock. Trashed a guitar that he was not supposed to do. I was there and have seen , on tv program showing what happened . He trashed first guitar in solo , then a second . Must have forgot second was not one to trash. When he looks at stage hand to give him the decent one to use . Stage hand points to broken pieces on stage and then gives him a guitar shrugging shoulders . Not sure make etc . But Richie looked took guitar and had to carry on . ![]()
