Yes, it changed. Sometime in my late 20ies I started loving peppers and I'd always hated them before. Even more strange, my favourite is green which is most people's least favourite.

Now it's very rare that I touch alcohol

My favourite is McGuigans Reserve Cabinet followed by the Merlot, tried quite a few the last couple of years

just enjoying a Hardys Cabernet-Shiraz-Merlot, very fruity little number we will be having again.

Plus it depends what you’ve eaten with it. A good red with pickled onion? No. A chilled white with a grilled tomahawk steak? Maybe, but not as good as a Malbec.

Argentinian malbec, something full bodied... Delish.

I once tried a sparkling red.. Wasn't keen on the idea, but it was so tasty.. It was many years ago, think it was a banrock station.. Served chilled... Goes against everything you know about red.. But was pleasantly surprised.

Not sure if I’ve had Hardys before but did a pick and mix of six and this was one of them, I really enjoyed it so will buy again, I tend to go for Cabernet or Merlot so figured the mix of them was worth a try

Shiraz or Syrah are my favourites in the red department but equally I like the lighter Italian Chiantis - depends on my mood and whether I have it with food or on its own.

I went through a Malbec phase but gone off it now.

Partial to a very dry Riesling or Chablis as well.

Oh and I do not have my red at room temperature - that is based on medieval ages when room temperature was considerably cooler (around 14 to 16 degrees) than it is today. So my red is served at around 16 degrees.

Not a snob, but I have quite sensitive taste buds and wine is one of my guilty pleasures.

Then I did a wine tasting course in London near Borough Market and discovered that i actually like really good Italians!

So now it's amarone, barolo, valpoolicella ripasso all the way

On red wines tho... Lidl's Wine of the Week is a New Zealand Pinot Noir (£4.99), which is lovely and light. As expected as it is really a Burgundy... It's still a little too tannic so I'll keep the other bottles I've bought and maybe try it in a year's time...
