How do you do it when your heart refuses to let go?

I know time is a great healer yadder yadder, but it's been a year and it's still one step forward, two steps back.

I know it's not your usual swinger conundrum but heart still feels torn in 2.

Don't move on. Give yourself a break from feeling bad about not moving on and just live for 6 months. Grieve and breathe.

Wish I could help but I can't. I'm a pretty emotional little spud, but I have developed a big bouncebackability that helps me cope with the heartache. I hope you are ok and whatever you're going through passes, and you come out the other side stronger

Focus on why you weren't right for eachother. Keep your mind busy. Ban yourself from visiting their Facebook page. When thoughts of them enter your head push those out and focus on something else. Meditate (loving kindness)

Reverse the steps to the falling in love. If you dwell on them, ensure it's an obsession with their traits that were a bad match and deal breakers. Cultivate repulsion, not attracton and smash any rose tinted specs.

And especially, cultivar a life today that's satisfying. Go Lionel!

You spend time alone with yourself. You dont look for distractions eg,dating, sex sites, filing your time and running from the greiving process.

You sit in it, you face the silence the despair the confusion, the justification...you stare it right in the face.

And you journal, you free flow write eveything that comes up, the good the bad the ugly, you don't review it you just let it out.

Then you make an ahhh jar...

I’d recommend understanding yourself, what makes you happy and what messages you get from the things that you do. Many people really do not explore this enough and feel some things they do makes themselves happier when in reality it further increases the negatives.

I think this is it, but I think it also really depends on why things broke down. So I was over my ex qho I had a 17yr relationship and a child with pretty quickly, yes it was painful but I ended it due to his anger issues and I'd been unhappy for a long time. So I didn't really grieve long over him. However I'm still a bit raw over a more recent thing, but he really hurt me, so I really do think it depends.
