I don't think they choose Americans to blame on purpose, it was probably a statistic generated in America and then picked up and quoted somewhere else.

People tend to use American stats to represent all Western societies, I can't imagine we're much better.

A carbon bike is actually capturing carbon as its made out of carbon.

Almost everything we do involves a carbon and energy cost.

As individuals and as a society we should all look at ourselves and assess what we can do. We cant just blame 'Government' or big business. As consumers of energy and goods, we are not innocent or uneducated any more about the effects of our activities. We all have a responsibility.
