Do you ever see someone on here that you really like the look of, get on well with in the forums, but never take that next step because you think they are out of your league and you'd have no chance?

Yes, and on the 20th anniversary of me leaving my husband I arranged a hotel meet with him. He was amazing. Stunning looking and a real fantasy figure. But also very down to earth and human, I think when you put someone on a pedestal

you lose sight of that. I haven't seen him since as it was one perfect memory I don't want to taint.

It's a toxic mindset. If you get on with somebody and have enough in common to enjoy chatting then go for it.

People who think they're out of your league probably aren't worth the bother though.

I can never understand leagues in the swinging world. Natural selection obviously exists when you are considering a long term relationship, although I am told on very good authority that there are a few people on here who are too insecure to want to approach certain people as they may face rejection, and I know for a fact that there are couples on here where the guy won't allow his partner to indulge herself with certain fellas as she might become too attached to him. I've always described swinging as, the grand leveler of all human greatness. It doesn't matter what your station in life is. If you are the chairman of an international corporation, and you can't get it up, then you are poor as a church mouse, and the guy that can repeat is far more loaded so to speak however he gets by in the outside world. Like minded people shouldn't ever feel that they are out of anyone's league.

"No, leagues don’t exist, it’s all about chemistry and connection "

What she said ^

I used to have the "league" view the one day I had a simple epiphany that we're all just strangers on the internet.

If I shoot my shot and get rejected it doesn't actually matter. Apart from a message or two I've not invested anything. I'm not losing any money or belongings. No one else on the site knows/cares because everyone's doing their own thing.

The only thing that's hurt is my ego but that's the root of most problems here anyway.. Person gets rejected, ego hurt, sends abuse. Person doesn't get any messages for the first 2 weeks on the site, ego hurt, starts a shouty forum thread, deletes account before they even get into it. Take ego out of the question and the site/world is a better place.

Rejection is water off a ducks back in this arena OP but there's plenty more fish in the sea. You've got nothing to lose by striking up a conversation. Relax, have a laugh and a chat and see where it takes you

I don’t believe in the mindset of leagues, I’m confident in my own appearance and appreciate I’m not going to be everyone’s cup of tea nor do I want to be.

I think it’s all about confidence, how you come across and that chemistry/click you just have with some people that’s either there or isn’t

I certainly don’t see anyone as better than me and I don’t think I’m better than anyone, just go with the flow x

Not really in terms of league.

I'll read people's profiles and conclude I'm not going to be attractive to them or I'm not what they are looking for. (Hopefully that's not the same thing..?)

Yeah I does, I can relate to that when I was younger and it used to stop me doing all kinds of things. I guess along the way I got confident but I wouldn’t say I love myself , insecurity is always there below the surface, I just take risks and do things that make me uncomfortable because life has taught me that’s how you get results

Yes. The people I like are way out of my league. Way, way out.

But that's my lack of self confidence and belief talking.

So I pull on my big girl bra (because pants are not exactly a staple in my life) and I send a message if I want to. If they send a message first I tend to have a minor heart attack and assume they sent it to the wrong person.

And actually.... these people who are way out of my league, some of them thought the same about me. Some of them actually want to meet me.

And a couple of them have given me the absolute best times and most wonderful friends I've ever had.

So my advice, take the chance. Even if it doesn't work out how you want, you'll have done it. I do know that the fear of rejection is horrible, and can make you feel worse, but if they're good people they'll be kind. And if not, screw them.

Nope.

I remember when I first joined the forums, there was a super handsome popular guy I really fancied. So I messaged him saying "hey, I like your chat and I think you're hot" (but a bit more eloquently) and we got chatting, now we're really good friends. The stars have not yet aligned for a meet but there's no rush If I think of fab as a social arena rather than an all you can eat buffet it takes the pressure off interactions. Chat with people you like, see where it goes. No hurry.

Occasionally when I'm feeling a bit crap about myself and how I look (period time), then yes, I think how could this person possibly be interested in me?

And then I give my head a wobble and remember that I'm actually pretty darn epic and I'm intelligent and sporadically witty. And another person isn't better than me or in a different league because they are more conventionally attractive - that's absurd. Besides people are attracted to all sorts and some just happen to like a precocious chubby mixed race woman.

So yes, definitely say fuck it. Talk to people without expectations because you want to. Don't overthink it and do enjoy it.

Do you just fuck anything with no consideration for attraction? "

Perhaps this is due to your interpretation of what I just posted.

In answer to your second question, no I don't just fuck anything because I can afford to be selective. Also I mentioned on another thread that the biggest erogenous zone in the human body is the brain, if you don't stimulate that, nothing else is going to happen. Even if a woman looks like she has stepped off the cover of Vogue magazine, if I don't actually fancy her, she has more chance of raising The Titanic, than what makes me smile, as I dry myself down whilst looking in the mirror, after taking a shower. I don't consider leagues to be a measure of physical attraction.

Secret hideaway in the pennines

I have a thing for a certain person on here, it took me ages to pluck up the courage to come out and say something directly. She is absolutely stunning, and yes I did feel I was punching above my weight big style, but I took the plunge, and it turns out she is just a normal person. Due to one thing or another, nothing has come of it, except being a friend and being there if she needs. I respect this woman completely, I admire her strength, and I hope that she will be a friend for life

Hasn't happened yet. I feel like that feels arrogant to say but it's more that people are just people and we all like different things. The worst they can say is thanks but no thanks and that isn't a reflection on your value, it's just difference in tastes. If they're unpleasant in their rejection then is it someone you would want to meet anyway?

"Yes.

And if not, screw them."

Totally...we get messages or winks from couples who look absolutely georgeous with fantastic bodies..I look down at my wobbly bits and know I (mrs) would feel totally inadequate and self conscious if we ever met face to face so don't engage with them. I would hate for someone to meet us and feel dissappointed.

We don't fit with people's criteria on age, preferences etc so we're not compatible with some we find attractive. It doesn't make them out of our league though. We wouldn't meet people we didn't personally find attractive though but we don't place them in leagues

You shouldn’t feel inadequate or put off to put yourself out there. People have many attractions to people it’s not always about looks.

A turn on for a stunning person might be the other persons mind or the turn on for a average person might be someone who is their complete opposite. Yes looks are the first thing you see but when you use your other attributes such as hood conversation or a personality clash then these are the deciding factors….

Take the plunge

This is exactly what it is criteria that people put on their bio puts people off engagement.

I was talking about this the other day on another forum what people put on the bio may not actually be what they are looking for.

That's why I dont put size, colour/race or turn off on my bio. Because tbh it's about both physical and mental combined. Some one may like super hot but cant hold a convo. Where someone maybe a average looking woman but has a really deep mind that i connect with.

Never say never.

This is not a brag, but encouragement for others ...

I am seeing someone who has often been described by others as "out of their league".

So how did I do it? I tried. As they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained. If you give up before you start, then you've lost already. Have a go. You may get rejected. It's not anything personal. Take the view: some will, some won't, so what, next!

Not out of my league - I'm too funny for that.

But I've thought some people I'm attracted to, wouldn't be attracted to me. So I just, do nothing

Prime example last weekend at a club, I ran into someone on my hotlist - we chatted a lot and got on well. I dont make the first most because I'm too chicken if I'm not 100% sure and, as I didn't know what his face looked like, I didn't know it was him. Wasn't until the next day he messaged and I genuinely face palmed.

Oops.
