No not the 90’s band but steps from walking. Just recently I’ve made a concerted effort to do at least 10,000 steps a day, be it walking or running. I’m interested to know how many other forumites count their steps…..

Don't do the joke, don't do the joke...

Used to use a pedometer on my phone but I wasn't really sure how accurate it was (spoilers - not very) but it was interesting to see the numbers add up.

I recall that I had to ignore probably half the 'steps' it counted but still did 15000 a day so not so bad

Darn it, you start at 5,6,7,8!

I have a fitbit. Love to hit the 10k but since covid, sheilding someone etc that's gone out of the window. I'd like to get back to it though. Maybe in a couple of weeks I can.

KIDLINGTON

I have a garmin vivoactive3. I like it and gives a good accurate output on steps etc.i use it for other sports too.

Unfortunately with work being so hectic I've spent more time sitting than moving. I guess that's the issue when at home it's easy to not move.

I started a new health kick yesterday as its time to get fitter again. Got to 10,682 yesterday and will make sure I'm above 10k today.

Everything.. It's irritating to charge, its huge, the battery runs down really fast (gps kills it)...

It doesn't understand my gym classes

It's always switching on and blinding me at night when i twist my wrist, it keeps me awake at night with its stupid green lights flashing

It cannot tell when i am asleep vs awake in bed.. It once thought i was REM when I'd been working for 1.5 hours (had peed, showered, gone up /down two flights of stairs)

There and to the left a bit

After an moment with the scales at the end of January I started walking and step counting - started with a target of 6000 steps a day and have now increased that to doing around 12000 most days - in fact Saturday I did 34000+

My step counter doesn't do steps on the history side - but for comparison last year I walked the equivalent of almost 137km - this year since the end of January I have done 1470km!!

I have a Garmin that tracks my steps and loooooots of other stats, stress levels, heart rate, maps out walks etc.

I find it very handy but I don't make a daily effort to reach any set target as such.

West Wales and Cardiff

I love walking in the mountains, but I’d never bothered counting steps.

Did get an app recently, for a particular reason that evades me now! Found it quite addictive.

What shocked me was how low the count was on days working from home, compared to days in the workplace doing a relatively sedentary job. It was way lower.

All interesting stuff.

I used to do a minimum of 15k steps every day, but since covid and working from home I maybe hit that once every few weeks when I deliberately go for a walk.

Most days at home I'm lucky to hit 5k steps - you're right, it's far lower at home than even in an office doing a sedentary job.

When I first decided to get fit and shed my excess weight, I upped my steps to 10k a day! Worked well, lost 5 stone in 4 months (along with overhauling my diet) and I can actually walk long distances easily now!

I aim for at least 10K steps on a rest day. I measure on a Garmin Fenix 6 Pro

I don’t count my steps as for me that can get a little addictive, but I never sit down so know I do well over 10k a day! Also little legs equals double the steps to get anywhere at all haha! Miss PC

Manchester (he/him)

As much as it’s an arbitrary amount based on questionable data, it’s still a useful goal to aim for.

My steps dropped massively over the first part of the year due to injury and a change in job but I’m getting them back up now, walking to the shops rather than driving is a big help as well. It’s easy to be lazy and just drive

hiding from cock pics.

I count my steps daily, I aim for 10,000. I used to do that easily everyday, now I am managing it a few times a week but I intend to get it back up there daily.

I used to have a target of 12.500 but I lowered it to tend to make it more achievable for the moment.

Yesterday, I was very active so I did actually manage 18,000.

I don’t count them purposely but my watch keeps a track… but if you’re aiming for a goal then it’s beneficial if not then just keep active and make it fun

Is it too childish to..

3 steps to heaven?

The 12 step program

The big Ben film 39 steps..

Step 1.. You find a girl to love... Now you'll be humming that song all afternoon. And follow steps 1 2 and 3.
