Friendly or flirty, how do you know the difference?

There and to the left a bit

It can be a minefield telling the difference at times so unless it's obvious flirting I tend to err on the side of assuming it's friendly - saves a lot of blushes that way.

If they're serious about an interest in you they'll up the flirting to a point where it's obvious hopefully.

Of course you could always add flirtations of your own and see if they are reciprocated.

That said I'm the worst person to respond as I'm terrible at picking up signals

Snap, you could be stood in front of me waving a sign saying I fancy you and I'd be oblivious..... And on the flip side I've been known to have normal friendly chat be taken as flirting completely unintentionally

Lol I have no idea, I’m the worlds worst at spotting when someone’s flirting with me. When someone is, my reaction normally goes straight from “oh they’re a nice, friendly person” to “holy shit, that was needlessly pornographic”

I always assume people are being friendly. Guess it's a self defence mechanism of not wanting to get your hopes up and dashed.

I try to be flirty so.etime but not very good at it. And those I do flirt with don't seem to notice

when she or he treats everyone the same. My friend is very flirty friendly but in love with her partner so no romantic interest in anyone else.

It's normally pretty obvious tbh. Well I think so.

Weirdly, if I fancy someone I'm super shy. It I like you as a person and nothing else, I'm really friendly which might come across flirty

I have no idea, several times in the past friends have asked how I've got on with that girl that was flirting with me last night....no idea whatsoever!

I assume everything’s friendly as all conversation is on that level. I don’t flirt in person so I wouldn’t know that either.
