Chelmsford

The Norwegian ladies beach handball team wore shorts to protest about the rule that they wear skimpy bottoms. They were each fined 150 euros. They should be uniform as a team but should not be forced to wear something that makes them leered at..

Hard to believe that there is a requirement to wear bikini bottoms. Just shows what a joke of a sport it is, that players having their arses on display is actually a requirement.

Meanwhile bbc has a story about a female athlete being told that he shorts were showing too much arse cheek and she should consider wearing shorts.

Both wrong

That's a stupid ruling ... surely they should be allowed to wear whatever they like

From what I understand it’s some kind of money issue where the bikini bottoms are provided by the Olympic s or something?

But why do they have to be bikini bottoms? Give the women a choice. Bikini bottoms, short shorts, knee length shorts.

Why should they be forced to wear something?

I understand being forced to wear the Olympic uniform. But why bikini bottoms.

I don’t seem to understand why it has to be a certain uniform. Does it matter if it’s a skirt, bikini bottom, shorts?

Slowly the world turns. It is quite frankly disgusting that female athletes and gymnasts have to wear “sports” clothing to titillate the dried up crusty members of the IOC and the commercial sponsors of the event, who know damn well that by making such demands, they are appealing to predatory male instincts and diminishing the value of female participants as athletes.

It’s actually quite sick when you truly think about it. Choice. Whatever happened to choice?

It wasn’t the Olympics. Just before. It’s purely a viewing thing, skimpy bikini bottoms and bare arses. Not a real sport when it has requirements like that

Some female gymnasts have started wearing outfits that cover their entire bodies. No requirement for them to do otherwise
