I remember a residential trip where a friend and I stumbled across two of the teachers up against a wall and he had his hand up her shirt skirt. He told us that she had an itchy leg and we believed him!

I can remember going to Chester Zoo and some local pond where rare wildlife were found...

Not enough space for everyone on the coach so me and my friend had to go in the teachers car

It still happens round my way, and not sure anyone has been labelled as anything for it. Some people are still trust worthy

Twycross Zoo, Avoncroft Museum, the Imperial War Museum, the Severn Valley Railway and a week on a farm in Devon which was fab.

I imagine that health and safety means that school trips are closely monitored these days. We had so much freedom, imagine 30 10 year olds running wild on a farm!

Loads of end of term trips to Alton Towers. But used to go on ski holidays with the school. You’d end up travelling with 5-6 other schools and stay at the same hotel. You’d spend the week trying to cop off with girls from other schools. The teachers would do the same (with other teachers that is). I went when I was in the 6th form and went drinking with the teachers who basically admitted that they spend the whole time drinking and shagging.

We went to Ingleborough when I was 11. Right in the gateway to the accommodation was a dead cow and for three days we all had to step over it to get in or out.

Would have thought, someone would have taken the bull by the horns and dragged it out of the way.

I went skiing to Austria at ages 11, 14 and 15. First trip was via coach, others by plane.

On my last trip I rang my grandmother to tell her the time to expect me home and told her that I had broken my right leg and left arm in a skiing accident.... I hadn't really.

She believed me and was so upset and fretting for hours until I arrived home. My grandfather collected me from school and laughed at my fib, when I arrived home all my family were there to fuss and welcome me home as I skipped down the drive. My grandmother called me all the names under the sun

My school did that as well. Special train took us there, picking up other schools along the way. Was something like 1977.

Herts

Class trip to the Addis plastics & toothbrush factory:

Teacher driving the minibus cuts this guy up, nearly hitting him; at some traffic lights he gets out of his car and grabs the teacher by his neck and starts shouting at him.

Fifteen 17yo all pile out (this is one of three teachers we like) and the guy runs off

Teacher then berates us for the rest of the trip there.

Factory was shit, oh they don’t sterilise your toothbrushes before they sell them, we “used” some and they all went back on the production line.

Amazingly although my school was in Chester, we never went to Chester zoo or into the city itself! My memories are having to sit next to the teacher at the front of the coach, whilst quickly filling a sick bowl haha! Speke hall and Norton Priory are the two I remember for all the wrong reasons! Got to love travel sickness Miss PC

The usual museum and Alton towers trips.

However, the best and most memorable was a residential trip to Derbyshire. I got to go climbing, hiking, do photography and all sorts of fun activities with my friends.

Don't recognise that one, it was a long time ago! We remember the toboggans. You started at the top of the hill, released a hand brake and got faster and faster. Kids used to come off the track, it wouldn't be allowed nowadays!

Trip to France where it ended up with all the 'bad boys' on it.

I was sharing a room with two others and had to go and wake a teacher up as one of them was d*unk on red wine and standing naked on the window ledge of an open window - he eventually covered the bathroom in red sick.

One boy got run-over and ended up in hospital.

Everyone bought bangers and we had a massive banger fight on Bastille Night - one boy, who'd recently had his appendix out, got a banger blow-up on his stomach and had to go to hospital as his operation ruptured.

A few boys smuggled bangers back into the UK in their socks.

There were a few other incidents but did get to go round Mont St. Michelle.
