Morning!

For a different type of getting dirty and wet, anyone else enjoy going caving?

It sounds like something I should be into, but I’m claustrophobic, but I’m fascinated by geology.

I've done it a few times. I find it both scary and exhilarating.

I was hoping to go again next week and introduce my kids to it but it's not working out.

I love the beauty and raw power of nature but I'm a bit of a wuss and only go to public caves with lights n clearly marked exits!

I was in awe of the cavers who explored the National Showcaves of Wales though.

As above I’d be afraid of getting stuck and drowning.

I did go coasteering in Newquay recently that was awesome

Though i can be an adrenaline junkie, it has never appealled.

There's a youtube channel called 'fascinating horror' There's an episode about the nutty putty caves in the states. A guy got stuck down there & his brother had go back to get help to save him. A lot of the tunnels were no bigger than sticking your head in a washing machine.

I thought "ok... this is the worst way to die.." when i watched it.

I started when I was a kid, loved it ever since! I think it’s the physical challenge, the remoteness etc.

Certainly cave diving even in the Yorkshire dales it’s almost like being an astronaut you’re so remote in terms of rescue and dependence on skill and kit. It’s a mind game really.

Pretty amazing when you find somewhere new and know you’re the first human to see it.

Beyond Purity, my caving club does regular family trips which welcome kids x
