I've been a musician for many years and mainly played in 60s cover bands. Having done many covers it now seems there were many 50s and 60s songs that may now be frowned upon if released today, songs along the lines of sweet little sixteen, you're sixteen you're beautiful and you're mine and many songs about sixteen year olds and the obsession with the girl becoming a woman. It seems some big artists of the time had a thing about girls famously Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis. What other songs and lyrics does anyone think would not be appropriate now?

Also, Sixteen by Iggy Pop, although I think he's addressing a girl who's already a woman and knows how to play the men. Still kinda wrong.

It's a hobbyhorse of mine at work, whenever a Neil Diamond song comes on the radio I point out the questionable lyrical content. I can find it in everything he ever wrote. I mean a lot of em are damn good songs in terms of melody and chords, but his voice and persona creeps me out big time.
