Spain, Lancs

Also watch out for rising electricity prices.

I live in Spain and the price rose yesterday to 111 Euros per kWh.

You read that right.

Spain has spent billions to meet their boast of being the "Saudi Arabia of renewable energy".

If you don't keep an eye on the UK government you'll find yourselves unable to drive or keep warm

Yep, huge difference I travel a fair bit around the area from Swansea to Newport and up to Merthyr, without too much effort I could find a 10p/litre variation or £7 for a full tank

Honestly if you’re whizzing around in a 1.2 Corsa, all fuel is cheap…. If you’re driving a 3.2 litre V6, all fuel is expensive. But you kinda just accept it. Fuel goes up and only massive events have an impact on lowering oil prices generally. It’ll keep doing it’s upward movement until we’re all on electric cars and then they’ll up the price of electric itself. That’s biz.

"Just gone electric, a charge costs £12.40 on my current tariff which gets me 260 miles."

electric cars have thier place, but dont kid yourself that they are better for the enviorament, dont forget alot of power stations are either coal or gas still, nevermind all the stuff in batteries, and try putting out a lithium battery thats on fire!

plus most people dont have a convieniant way to charge them at home, think city dwellers in flats etc, or terriced houses with on street parking etc, so electric isnt the answer, and if you do long trips, well then useless day to day without worrying you will run out and finding a place to charge, and if we all got one the national grid wouldnt cope.

that said if i lived in a house with a drive/garage and had a fairly short comute then i wouldnt hesitate. the other worry is, how are the gov going to get back all the lost fuel duty, yet to be seen

dont forget that in the uk over 60% of the cost of petrol is tax, and thats before vat is added to it, so probably nearer 65%, if we all go electric thats going to put a huge hole in the money the goverment have to waste, sorry spend wisely, its going to have to come from somewhere, and all the tax breaks and subsadies to get us to by a electric car is madness, again unsustainable, as the real cost of a electric car is way higher than an ice car, we dont know really how much a nobody has ever paid the full price.

a guy i know has a duel fuel bmw, he gets it through work, heavily discounted, 0 road tax and he gets less than 15 miles on electric before the petrol engine turns on at guess what 17mpg, and thats due to the weight of all the electrickery, he used to get 45mpg out of his old diesal bmw, same type of car, and his tax was around 400 a year, madness, he doesnt have to pay for fuel, his work do, but he said that if he did, then he would have been better off with his old car
