Well, this Saturday I shall be hauling myself out of bed relatively early and wheezing my way round the 5k course (a new one in our local case - we outgrew the old one)

Anyone else excited to be getting back out there?

Genuinely feels like a long time since the last one....

Have you been moving like a snail since your last one?

Sounds a bit overkillish

I will be going back but as with most public events, I am going to givd it a few weeks to let the craziness subside.

Aot of people took up running overockdown so J suspect numbers may increase.

My home parkrun (not my most local but the one I've done most at) has also changed its route slightly.

I may volunteer as a Marshall before I start run/walking it again.

I’ve just been for one and I’m planning to return to various courses from August. Quite excited and want a PB by the end of the year.

Out of curiosity, other than smashing the course record or finishing way ahead of the other runners week in and week out, how do you outgrow a course?

It became a bit too popular, and sometimes got 400+ runners. Which led to complaints from other park users

So we've got a new route away from other people, hopefully, which is more of a trail run rather than tarmac. Which knackers my chances of beating my own PB

No, I have been running still. I took 6 months off from it this time lady year, as I was the wrong side of 20 stone and my knees were beginning to complain about it, but I've lost 2-3 stone through lockdown and went back to it in the winter

But with an organised event there's more incentive to go and do it - if it's just me, it's a bit too easy to sometimes say balls to it

I have every faith in you OP. We can hold each other accountable for our goals! What do you say? End of year improvement?

I'm up for that

My average is around 32 mins, my PB is 29.30, and according toy cheap twat bit I have managed the old course is 29 minutes recently. Just about poleaxed me, though

Happy to see what sort of time I get on the grass at the weekend and take it from there

Not sure how local park run will return as it has roadworks in the middle now. Also how to fit it into H/M training

Hopefully my local one goes ahead.... And I get to go.

Hoping for a sub 20 min for the first time, but it's a hard 4 lap course. Bloody hill....

Good luck everyone! Just enjoy it being back.

You can Marshal and cheer the runners on, it feels very rewarding.

Well, bearing in mind that we've just changed our local course from 2 laps on tarmac to 3 laps on grass, and I haven't run for almost a fortnight, it makes perfect sense that I knocked 24 seconds off my PB this morning

Looking back at previous results, my average is generally anywhere between 32 and 34 minutes. I once fluked a 29.34 almost exactly 5 years ago, and have never been able to get anywhere near that since. But today they tell me I came in at 29.10

And I walked at least a quarter of one lap....

Hope everyone else got on OK in their runs, and felt it was worthwhile and good to be back
