Getting abusive messages. You report it but it doesn't stop them, they obviously know they won't get banned. I'm probably going to have to leave now.

Sorry to hear you're getting terrible abuse OP. I know it can be quite difficult to ignore at times... But I just ignore & never feed a troll... Sometimes they're just trying to catch your attention...Just remember it's no reflection on you OP, they're just showing their true dull bleek colours

fabswingers has a system in place which lets the user control all incoming mail.

this lets you select the person you wish to communicate with. you can still block that person if they do not match.

its no good complaining about abuse if you do nothing about stopping it yourself.

If you feel that it’s your time to leave then leave. If you have exhausted all that fab has to offer you then it owes you nothing. But make sure it’s on your terms and not someone else’s as you will be letting them win. The best way to get back at these trolls and haters is to stay and keep doing what your already doing. You don’t even have to change anything.

that just shows you are not in control of yourself.

if you had filters in place that means you messaged these people first.

because men would not be able to.

so the conversation didnt go to plan, you block, delete and move on.

must always remember people choose who they interact with.

its well known people get abused via the message system here, you must be foolish to think this doesnt happen or that you will not be a victim of it.

im not saying its right to abuse people but you had filters in place and choose poorly.

Really can't understand why anyone leaves abusive messages. What happened to no means no?? We aren't all for everyone so why do people feel the need? I always try to be polite and if someone says I'm not for them, then that's fair enough. I'll still keep being me and they can keep being them.

Don't know why they think being abusive is going to change anything??

Use your filters & do your own searches & that would cut down a good proportion of the abuse you are getting

That just shows what cowards they are. It is really tough when you get shitty messages and it's easy for people to tell you to ignore it but sometimes you can't sometimes they get to you.

Take a few days out to look after yourself and see how you feel when you come back

Yes. You do the hunting then and not the other way round, just message ones that pique your interest.

It's easy to say ignore them and don't take it to heart, but just try to remember they don't know you, and really they're just a few sad acts, they're not someone who's opinion you should respect.

It shouldn't happen but it does.

Use your filters to the max or block everyone from messaging you and only message those you are interested in. If it is the same person doing it over and over on different profiles just delete the messages unread you usually have an idea by what you can see without opening them and ignore do not react they want a reaction by not reacting they finally get pissed off and leave you alone.

Abuse should not be tolerated but it is the internet and it happens. You can only control how you react to it. Learning to roll you eyes at it and move on is the only way .The site gives you ways to control your inbox as much as it can use the aids that are there like filters it will make life a lot easier.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
