No.

At first, you'd be able to make plans etc, but as the time got closer, you'd be focussed on that rather than enjoying things.

I wonder how many condemned men actually enjoyed that last hearty meal?

No not at all, I think you’d end up dreading it approaching, rather than grasping life by the balls and living it.

Those that say yes, would you be able to keep it to yourself, ie not tell family and friends ?

You could do most of that anyway though?

Make a cat plan now.

Sort your will out today.

Tell people you love them as it might be your last chance.

Wash those pants!

(I expect the matching underwear would be the biggest daily struggle).

I'd ask someone else to find out for me and no matter what the answer was, to tell me it was great news and I had a hundred years left.

I'd only want them to tell me when I had 24 hours to go, just long enough to tell everyone I loved them and then make some spectacularly poor choices safe in the knowledge I'd never have to deal with the consequences.

Hmmm. I said Yes and I think that would depend if it is was soon or long way off, so whether it would have an imminent effect on them or not.

If it was soon I'd want to say for practical purposes, if it was long time (say when I was 80 or 90) I'd think it unnecessary as that would be expected anyway. Most tricky would be say ten years time - that would be a big burden to put on your loved ones and makes me think perhaps I'd rather not know!

Practicalities I’d sort myself I think. As you say it’s the burden you’d put on them, I’d rather my last days/weeks with those I’m close to be happy and creating memories for them rather than them being about individuals dreading the approaching time. Sometimes a small little lie is better than honesty, in my opinion.

Think of all of the benefits, no nursing homes, no free childcare for the grandkids and end it whilst having at least a bit of life left in you.

Plus no OAP economy.
