just watched a car pull up outside my flat, it sat there for a few moments and then left, leaving a huge pile of fast food containers and energy drink cans behind on the floor. best thing, there are huge bins a few feet walk away, what goes through these peoples brains, and why do they think its ok, if i knew how to find thier address i would take it and dump it on thier doorstep, see how they like it

Somehow we've lost the culture of not littering in the UK.

When I've visited parts of the US like Virginia and Baltimore, while I'm sure I only saw the nicer bits, I was struck by the absolute absence of roadside crap. Clean verges and gutters everywhere.

I remember someone complaining on facebook about the amount of litter everywhere and blaming the council for not clearing it up, no the people to blame are the ones that dropped the litter in the first place! Problem is a lot of people think this way the "I pay my taxes" attitude

I detest people who litter/fly tip. I litter pick in/around my village…..not my rubbish but hate seeing it where I live. Absolutely no need for it.

Boils my piss this. I once saw a car full of young blokes do the same thing in my pub car park. I politely asked the driver to put it in the bin, he just replied I didn't do it. I went into the pub, got behind the bar and served them with a smile when they came in. With all the pints on the bar I took their money then barred them and threw them out. His face was priceless.

Shame you didn't get the reg, and report to the council. We had a computer chair flytipped out side ours. Council collected it on normal bin day. We didnt see who dumped it, but at least it went.

I'm one of those people who sweeps the gutter and removes s on pavement. I do have a dedicated wild patch for bugs ect. I take care and pride where I live. And take rubish home and respect where I visit.

Hats off to you, it's a thankless task, thank you. The little village I drive through everyday have regular litter pickers. Plus they have their weekly large fly tips. We live at the end of a cul de sac. So get little rubbish. Dustbin day we get drop outs, which more often than not I clean up. My neiubours would never claim and clean up even if it's theres.

In the us they have volunteers cleaning up verges every weekend. This country's attitude to littering is appalling. My Swiss mother is still horrified by it.

I remember seeing a kid toss an empty drinks can onto the ground. It rolled a few feet and stopped at the bin nearby like it was trying to do the right thing and put itself into it

i used to drive accross eaurope alot, you dont often see rubbish over the pond, et get to dover and you really notice the difference, if you have room in the car to carry what ever was wrapped up, then you have room to carry the wrapper home

I saw someone literally throw a bag for McDonald’s from the car… onto the street… what is wrong with people seriously? I hate that attitude, I always take my shit with me home if I can’t find a bin where to put stuff. (Sometimes I have to actively rummage in my bags every week as I might have some wrappers I was meant to throw and forgot)

If we are in the shit, it’s cos of behaviour like that… multiplied x100000

I live near the sea and don’t even get me started on the coastal path! Come here on holiday (not always holiday makers though) to enjoy the fresh air and scenery, leave coffee cups, sandwich packets etc along the path in the hedge. You’ve catered it so far and consumed it, packaging now lighter and less bulky therefore easier to carry but no just drop it and forget about it.

The worst littering we've seen in clubs was no a Chams BBW night. We literally seen some bloke after he finished fucking a woman in the couples room take his condom off and victoriously throw it across the room as if he thought he was some kind of king. The arrogant prick. We were there till the end (saying over) and the state of the club at the end was saddening. Used condoms everywhere, empty cans in rooms, spills of fluids unknown all left for the staff to clean up. One of the staff said these are the worst nights in terms of mess for them. The attitudes and lack of respect of some that attend the BBW is one of the reasons we tend to avoid it in favour of general club nights which are great. I just don't see why people can't clean up after themselves?

It’s the mental attitude of: WELL, IT’s NOT MY HOME. So I don’t care. (As surely 99% wouldn’t just throw litter on the floor at home and leave it there. The 1% who do… u are disgustaaang)

Watched a young girl do exactly the same outside my flat a few weeks ago. By the time i got down stairs she had gone into someone's flat, so i placed all the shite on her bonnet, i still ended up picking it all up because it fell of when she drove away

I've taken part in litter picks when living in villages, I think theirs more community and pride in them... issue being is people have no association, nor care, its not my problem when I've driven through or walked past and left it, that and the entitled attitude All about what is wanted and materialistic, so consequence is superfluous to the individual and a mere byproduct, as long as they get what they want.

Maybe if swinging was more socially acceptable and we could all be a bit more loving and less so of material things, then when we could fill our time with more fun activities and the waste would be reduced? Though saying that I've been to dogging spots where condoms and the like have literally been dropped next to the black sacks left there

We're involved in scouting, and there are always litter picks going on - simple way to improve your local environment

Yes definitely more bins needed along the coast in North Norfolk. The infrastructure can’t cope with the volume of people visiting. Never has and Covid hasn’t helped with people unable to go abroadz

doesnt stop the tards that throw things on the ground next to a bin tho, but agree, more bins would help, but that costs money the councils dont have , they are all to busy building shiney ney council office buildings

Ironically we're super clean at a club but not so much at home. We always clean away our mess and give everything a good spray and wipe. At home we can be messy because it only affects us but we would never want anyone to have to clean our mess, it's so disrespectful.

We had a day at the beach the other weekend. On the walk back to the campsite we encountered a few empty cans along the way. My adult step daughter picked up every can on the way back. Mrs Misfit has raised her right and we were both very proud of her.

As to more bins it may help the problem. Although those who just don't care will still chuck it even if the bin was right next to them. And bins cost, especially in remote areas such as beaches. At the end of the day people should be prepared to carry it till they bin it.

Sadly in a lot of western countries, this 'lazy' attitude is reasonably prevelant.

If you go to Singapore, this isn't the case, in fact there are huge fines for littering.
