I'm a little more reserved. I'm friendly and will generally speak to anyone such as striking up a conversation at the bus stop or in a queue for something. However, quite often, men have approached me in the supermarket or somewhere and what started out friendly on their part, very quickly turned creepy.

I don't like small talk either. There's only so much I take about talking about the weather & keeping a conversation at that (low) level going. I understand why small talk exists; it's generally to indicate that you are a normal person & don't present a danger to a new person that doesn't know you properly yet.

To overcome this, I tend to say hello to people's dogs and pet them if the owner gives me permission. That shows them that I'm not a complete psychopath.

-I also just love dogs.
