Current neighbours are brilliant but we were friends before becoming neighbours.

I’ve had nightmare neighbours in the past so really try to keep the ones I don’t know at a respectable distance.

Of course. He was a petty cunt. He got a job where I worked. When they got rid of him a dozen fellas came to me to say “he was a cunt”.

The majority are fine, but one neighbour tormented me for years; it was possible to identify when 'they' had stopped taking their medication.

I simply ignored the antics, rather than reacting or responding and 'they' moved onto another target.

One rotten apple, to coin a phrase, can destroy the barrel, and very rapidly.

I actually really like one side. The other are nice enough, they say hello. The lovely side water my hanging baskets when they are doing theirs, take in my parcels without batting an eyelid and remind me what bin needs to go out because they put theirs out at 6pm on the dot.

Wirral

There are 4 flats per floor where I live.

The flat adjoining my kitchen has an old couple in it, and the bloke is a complete arsehole who likes to send anonymous letters to the board. He reported me for having a very loud Yale lock on my door (not that I was slamming my door, that the snick noise of the lock engaging was too loud). He reported another neighbour for having visitors during lockdown (joke was on him, it was nurses needed when that neighbour had a fall and needed regular checks).

The flat adjoining my bedroom has a fantastic woman living there. Her great grandkids take her out for Sunday lunch and bring her back hammered, and she's forever inviting me into her flat for "just the tiniest taste of a drink". I've never taken her up on the offer.

The flat kitty corner to me has the sweetest old lady in it. She's 93 (she told me so), she's tiny and she reminds me of a much loved and much missed great aunty. She has her husband there but you hardly ever see him, just her. She's the one who needed the nurses.

I do know the flat directly above (a delight) and directly below (nice enough, but a real whiner), but other than at resident's meetings I don't see them.

Had some problem ones over the years.

One alcoholic who was creepy and threw stones at my dog. One mentally ill who shouted at me. One who reported me to the council because apparently my dogs were "barking excessively" (total bollocks but caused me a lot of stress and anxiety.

I like the old lady one side though, we chat from time to time and get on well.

Exactly, there's folk in the adjoining block who seem incapable of closing a door rather than slamming it! Nearly 8 years in this flat has driven me to the edge of distraction sometimes

I'm looking to move in the not too distant future

Don’t mind my neighbours - it used to be such a lovely set of neighbours. We’d go round each other’s houses when it’s hot BBQ, beers etc. Like 5/6 houses would meet together.

I remember the queens jubilee we had a great street party! But as of recent, everyone keeps themselves to themselves & I’m happy with that!

Currently building so I won’t have any neighbours for miles, bliss.

I don't much like my new council tenant neighbours. They moved into a fully refurbished house, including bathroom, kitchen, roof. I put up with the noise and distribution for 4 months. They have done nothing but moan since they moved in, gardens not right, no carpets, smells of paint ect ..

Final straw was telling me the council are taking down my fence because she says" it's not straight"

They are very inconsiderate, very noisy indeed, day and night, extremely self centered. And bellow/swear at their little kids extremely loud

Two of mine are bloody lazy and used to use my bin for their rubbish. I've got a lock on it now though. There's eventually going to be a new one underneath my flat but there's still work getting done. Up above me there's a very noisy woman who only starts up at night time or first thing in the morning, thumping about with her big fat heavy feet! My only decent neighbour is in hospital for cancer treatment and he's been such a good neighbour to me x

No. And I don’t have any. this morning, however, “farmer James” was riding around the back field at 6am on his quad bike shouting “go way” at a small heard of bullocks, who, because of Devon contrariness, were following him (which is actually what he wanted them to do ).

I didn’t mind the shouting so much (I am used to hearing the shout of “go way” in my everyday life) but that quad bike is getting nobbled next time he leaves it alone.
