Shuffle Play

There and to the left a bit

I often listen to a large (3000 song) playlist on shuffle play and though I know it's pretty random, it's spooky how often it throws up weird coincidences of either something that reflects my mood or events happening in my life or connected songs.

For example this morning I had The Ballad Of Tom Jones by Space/Cerys Matthews and shuffle play followed it with It's Not Unusual by Tom Jones!!!

Anyone else get similar?

I quite often ask spirit to choose the next song, it's nearly always appropriate for the moment!

Have had similar where I've "thought" of a song and it's then popped up

I've used shuffle play for years on whatever device I've been using (even had a carousel CD player on a seperates Hi-Fi with shuffle play) and it does seem to throw up the 'right' sequence of songs at times.

I've even had the 'spooky' song tied to what I'm thinking of or even thinking of a particular song and it plays it.

?

I get it quite a lot that I'll be thinking about someone, and a song comes on that I associate with them...probably just because I tend to associate songs with a lot of people and occasions/memories.

There certainly doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it most of the time

I can kind of see how an algorithm for shuffle might link Space/Tom Jones I'm this morning's example - but some of the others that have been mentioned here are just spooky....maybe it's the guardian angel that I don't believe in

I coulda kicked fuck out the radio when I got home from having girl dog put to sleep.

I was broken, wondering how the fuck I was gonna a carry on without her, wishing I could have climbed into the hole I'd just buried her in with her.

I turned on the radio to drown out my raging, desperate sobs and collapsed on the floor and the song that was playing?.... Forever Autumn
