I don’t get why this is such an issue to people? Surly you can do what you want with your own profile? And post pictures of what you want?

Mine is a couples profile, we only have pics of me on there for a few reasons, mainly as by husband don’t play, just likes to watch and who really wants to see pics of him if his not playing anyway and if they do then they only need to ask! Don’t get the issue

My only real issue with this website is how it gives the illusion that it is used by genuine people like me and others I know (for some reason, the interface and the forums give me that impression) but it does not quite live up to this illusion... I might just be projecting

Overall though, I am too grounded in reality to give too much signifance to it. Internet is an ideal space for fantasy and anonimity so it is hardly a surprise to encounter that.

To be fair, some women get absolutely swamped by messages. When people say they judge people on their spelling or grammar either on profiles or forums. I’m dyslexic and having a dad as a very accomplished English teacher made my school years really hard and I always felt ashamed when at school, especially when it was picked up by teachers and I felt like I’d let or shamed my family. Funny thing is, years later, through teaching myself, coding, Latin, literature, some physics and maths and some other things religious, cultural, historical ( big fan of ancient civilisations) I started to borrow more and more books from my dad. We started to connect and talk about them and even Latin to old English, old English to standard English today. Even the Gilgamesh, possible first ever story book from Mesopotamia times. We even went into the discovery of numeracy, even though he hates maths. The point being is grammar an spelling are the least important, many a famous writer could spell or write grammatical correct. The English language is not about a number of technical structures, there is something far more beautiful about it and how powerful it can be. So when I see people treating something that I use to hate but have grown to love into nothing more then technical achievements, butchering what it’s really about and using it to exclude some as if they’re inferior saddens me. Reminds me of dead poet society when asked to read the first page on how to rate the quality of a poem. It’s more than that and shaming people is never kwl. Sorry for waffling on, just had to be said

Yeah I think it’s a site that you have to be realistic about, stick with it for a while and not get caught up with no-replies etc and just try and make some friends. Doesn’t have to be more than that. Me I chatted with a sound guy. Neither one of us after the other but we’ve arrange doing a straight mmf together and that just from chatting and making friends. Think people forget it all just for a bit of fun really
