It’s doubly curious as even if the sandwich ingredients are not usually to my tastes, they still taste great if someone else prepares them.

…..which is why I am frequently to be found loitering around the buffet table at any given social event

I'd never cut a bacon sarnie or a chip butty in triangles, but a chicken sandwich I absolutely would. Cheese sandwich I wouldn't cut any other way, wouldn't taste right if it wasn't a triangle.
