Notes in iPhone have disappeared

Ok, so I had about 2000 notes in my i phone, it’s now down to 80, there’s nothing in my recently deleted folder or in my iCloud, for some reason it has kept notes up until 2018 and the rest have disappeared, I have no idea why or how, any ideas cause I’ve tried everything that is suggested by googling and the videos on you tube haven’t helped, the phone is an iPhone 6s if that means anything ?!

The right place

That’s weird. It got me worried but I still have notes going back to 2010.

Sorry I can’t help more than that.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I also just checked (worried!) but mine appear to be fine.

Have you tried turning the phone off and then back on? It might sound crass but this really does solve a great deal of intermittent/temporary technical problems.

Also, have you previously synced your phone with a pc?

Yes, I’ve switched it off several times, but it hasn’t worked, I haven’t synced my phone with a pc. I’m sure all my notes were there this morning, plugged phone in to charge had shower, looked at notes and they had disappeared apart from 80. I don’t know if doing a factory reset would bring them back.

It’s strange, I presumed they would all be backed up.

It might be worth a try.

I dug this up to; I hope it might help:

Have you tried restoring your phone, providing you’ve backed it up recently obviously, I don’t know if that’s worth ago ?

This has really concerned me, those notes carry all information I need. I wouldn’t even know my age if I don’t write it down.

A reset will wipe your phone to the day you got it. Have you checked the cloud?

I mean restore it, so it goes back to the last time it was updated, which like an idiot I updated it again after after I found the notes have gone.

I didn’t know you could back up a phone. I thought that only happened to computers. Every day is a school day on Fab!

On a mooch

Not sure if it helps but my notes are split 2 seemed to have gone to the cloud, these are the two actually in my phone, the others are connected to my gmail account.

I noticed the other day when I was searching for an email I sent myself they showed up in my email search.

I checked my emails, I couldn’t see them, I’ve got about 1920 gone missing.
