Someone I know freaks at buttons

Mine are fairly normal, spiders freak me out, but only the massive hairy ones.

Spiders, without a doubt.

I don't like unattached buttons. I don't fear them exactly, but they make my stomach churn. I hate it when they are stuck to cushions or birthday cards. My family all find it really funny, and whenever we see anything where buttons are used as decoration they will point, say "buttons!" and pretend to gag.

I landed a really good job a few months ago and since then have been suffering big time with imposter syndrome. High anxiety and fear of being found out to be a fraud is a stressful way to live at the moment

I don't like heights very much or being able to see underneath where I'm walking, like on a pier where you can see through the planks to the sea. I don't like open stairs either.

I used to be quite good with height. Not sure what happened.

I managed to improve mine with a very supportive doctor when I was younger. I still hate it, but I managed a severely botched blood test the other day with only whimpering and fidgeting.

I suffer with trypophobia, my gym put flower arrangements up for Halloween that had lotus flowers in i saw and dashed to the toilet to throw up.

Well done you!!! I can sympathise as I was the same until being referred for IVF (which actually wasn’t needed). The routine pregnancy stuff really helped too. His fear is due to botched hospital blood tests 7 years ago. They wouldn’t listen to us & kept poking him

Just had a google, it's called 'High Place Phenomenon' (HPP), sometimes referred to as 'The Call of the Void'

I need to stop using Lemming Syndrome as a term cos that is a different thing altogether - that is when you do something without reason, but simply because lots of other people are doing it

My fear is of aliens that are human shaped.. e.g signs movie ect.. no particular reason why but when I see them I have a genuine panick attack..

Won't say scared but worried a little about COVID!!!

People acting like all is fine (some have been for weeks now!) & no risk yet looking at the facts there is a big possibility it could all explode in our faces, so to speak.

I'm all for getting back to normal & I'm not being a scaremonger but feel we need to still observe certain restrictions & think twice when going out, etc.

Must be a link, I have tinnitus too. If I’m driving over a bridge I have to look dead ahead. If I look over the sides the dizziness kicks in.

I had a pee phobia for years. I’d get on a coach or sit in a theatre and think I’m going to not be able to hold it.

I’ve always had a phobia of one sort or other.

I’m so pleased to see that other people have the same phobias as me! I have a fear of balloons - kids parties were a nightmare. Fear of throwing myself off high places. Claustrophobia. Needles - could never have a tattoo!

I suffer with trypophobia, my gym put flower arrangements up for Halloween that had lotus flowers in i saw and dashed to the toilet to throw up.

I put a face mask on once, just before i went to wash it off and looked in the mirror.. it had all gone funny and turned me into a crumpet face... never have i shuddered and wanted to rip my face off so much in my life

I have 2 normal ones, spiders and water (as in the sea etc not a glass of it)

I also have a weird one that I can not get rid of and that’s ripped seats. I can’t sit on one, look at one, be near one knowing that it’s there. I feel physically sick if I see one and it’s been a bit embarrassing in the past if I have gone into a restaurant that has any.

Can’t get into old cars be of it and even if I’m drinking a can of whatever and I walk past an old van I have to make sure I look away from the van otherwise whatever I’m drinking will be wasted.

I’m still classed as sane too!

Developed a fear of flying because of a neurological problem I had. Going to travel short distances when things open up, so I can overcome this issue.
