Message from Forum User, with whom I have a rapport- Respond.

Message from Avatar with a Shadow- Delete Unopened.

Message from Avatar with a Shadow, but pic enclosed, opened. Then looked at profile blurb- "Will Fill in Later" - Delete Message.

Message from Avatar with Face pic, half decent message, nice face, go to profile- doesn't fit my preferences- Delete Message.

Message from Graphic- type of username- Delete Unopened.

Message from a Friend- Respond!

Can anyone see a pattern here!

I have blocked men from messaging. If I want to chat to one I will message them instead, then they can delete and block me instead

What one female requests doesn't speak for us all.

I know I'm in a minority when I say I don't give a hoot what your profile pic is, what your profile states or what message you send as long as theres a face pic added I'll respond. Because at the end of the day, like pointed out here, you can send a half decent message with a face pic and still be ignored. So, I don't expect a man to go through so much effort in an initial message when people tend to just delete them once read- I know I wouldn't bother if it was me.

Send whatever polite message you like and if there's an attraction let the following messages show.

The way that it’s written appears unsavoury but it’s probably a fairly common practice.

It’s not about trying harder though, the actual lesson is to make sure that you match preferences before you even start
