What are the differences..

I do apologise ahead for any ignorance.

I'm slightly confused, I've read a lot about people being cuckold couples, hot wife couples, and even stag and vixen couples.

I have done a bit of research, but I'm still feeling left in the dark as to the difference between them.

If there is anyone that can explain simply the differences I would love to be educated.

Thank you in advance.

There and to the left a bit

The thing is for the most part people have their own definitions of what each term means to them, which only serves to add to the confusion - but in broad terms my understanding is:

Hotwife - the lady of the couple will meet other men usually on her own but with the full knowledge of her partner who does not meet others on his own - when she returns to him things like reclaim sex happen and she fills him in on what happened or maybe even sends pics/videos from the meet.

Cuckold - comes more from a D/s situation where the lady of the couple meets other men, often in the presence of her partner who is not allowed to be involved but who often gets a kick from the humiliation angle of it, which may be mild or could be quite extreme and include things like clean up duties or having to help the wife get ready etc etc.

Stag/Vixen is the one I'm not totally sure of but I think it's simply where both halves of the couple meet others separately.

Thank you. Hopefully someone can clear up stag/vixen for me. Otherwise the other 2 have definitely been explained well for me.

And just to add to that there is also such a thing as a Cuckquean which is basically the opposite of a Hot Wife

Actually just found this explanation of stag/vixen which proves my first thought wrong:

"The man (stag) who would in cuckolding be the cuck instead enjoys watching his other half (vixen) getting sexual gratification from other men.

She (the genders can be reversed but that’s less common) enjoys performing and being watched.

Also, stags and vixens doesn’t preclude the man being involved. As well as watching he might eventually join in with his partner and another man rather than enjoying being excluded.

Couples who practise stag and vixen fantasies are not, however, automatically polyamorous or open. Stags and vixens often only have sex this way in pre-arranged situations, having negotiated their boundaries and when they are both present."

So is much like hotwifing although the male partner is present and/or joins in

The whole stag and vixen thing, isn't that little confused. A stag is a large deer related to the goat. Vixen a small dog type creature? Just musing

So if I understand this right.. The general stag/vixen dynamic is..

Vixen plays, stag sits back and watches maybe joining in?

In very simplistic terms yes, that's how I read it anyway

I think both definitions of "vixen" actually fit quite well:

"1.

a female fox.

2.

INFORMAL

a spirited or fierce woman, especially one seen as sexually attractive."

That's my understanding, yes. Which is what a lot of couples I've been involved with (male half) like to do but they haven't felt the need to label it.

Sweet. Thank you all for helping me clear that up. I was getting pretty confused cause they all sounded so similar to each other.

And that's the thing - there are similarities, cross-overs and parallels between them to an extent and dependent on the specific dynamics of individual people - which comes back to my original point about definition varying

Cuck - one plays the other serves. Could be the guy or woman who is 'sub'.

hotwife - wife mainly plays, sometimes alone. There's generally a little freedom for her.

stag/vixen - both play either as couple or separate I believe.

Unless it interests you at some level, you don't need to understand it - just accept that for others it forms part of their sex life and sexuality, in the same way as any other fetish or kink (which we all have to a greater or lesser degree) does
