Think of it as an enviromental waste managment approach.

Unless its uht or skimmed milk I find the reheat a bit yechy, I now drink tea without milk. Getting the timing right I think is important, 30 seconds usually does it for me. Coffee I'm slightly different with, if I make a pot its tea cosied so lasts longer , if cold I'll heat the milk then add the coffee.

My microwave is used for 4 things peas sweetcorn porridge oats and tea.

I always heat my coffee in the microwave for a bit. The pod machine I have doesn't have heat setting so it's never as warm as I would like it so you're not alone OP.

On the other hand, tea is always made with boiling water so re-heating it in the microwave is an absolute war crime and you should definitely be ashamed of yourself

OP, I am with you all the way, you shouldn't feel ashamed! If I feel the need for an extra strong brew I have to leave it stew long enough that it HAS to be microwaved (granted, this is done before milk is added).

In Central Park, New York I got a tea from one of the mobile drink vans and was horrified that he poured milk in the cup, then hot water then added the tea bag and it tasted vile

Ok, I guess I'm going to gross you folk out. When I make tea, I boil water in a pot, pour it into a teapot with loose leaf black tea, add milk and sugar (still in the teapot) and microwave it until boiling again then into a mug with a strainer. It's how my gran did it is my excuse (still prefer it though)
