Honesty does not mean its not negative, it can be negative and honest. Plus being negative does not mean something is bad.

On the flip side of that, it's a hypocritical post too. Complaining about sucking the joy out and bringing others down yet that exactly is what that this is, in retaliation.

Well it is, yes. I'm not saying their attitude should not be challenged with your own, and while it is a tame version compared to what I've seen, you still retaliated in a similar fashion by targeting them and what they are finding what may be joy for them in.

It is human nature, it is what we do. So it's not wrong, but it is still hypocritical as you are using the same methods that you are complaining about essentially, just less intense. It's still a dig, regardless of pulling punches.

Hypocrisy is not always a bad thing. Most people don't even realise they are being so in everyday life.

Which is my whole point certain things are viewed as bad when they are just part of the cycle.

And that's completely fine. I'm not going to gatekeep football and enjoy it when others get into it, it creates a buzz that's tough to replicate. But seeing others trying to dismiss that is kind of what annoys me the most.

Definitely not it is pointless. There are some sports I’m not a fan of but understand others are. Everyone has their likes and dislikes that makes us who we are. However, no one should be ashamed of what they like or abused by those that don’t like it (or don’t understand it) that isn’t just sport that is all walks of life.

When England lost I was heartbroken for them (especially when Saka started sobbing ) but couldn't help but smile and feel happy for Italy when I saw them celebrating.

I agree too. I don’t like football at all, but it was lovely to see how enthusiastic everyone was. I watched the players on the pitch after the semi final, and it was wonderful to see the players whipping the crowd up with sweet Caroline.

Yeah stuff like booing others' national anthems, shining lasers in Donnarumma's eyes etc. Why do England fans feel the need to create such a shit reputation for themselves?! obviously there are still many respectful fans but it's the minority that always ruin it.

Also the stadiums emptying so quickly after Italy won - is that a normal occurrence in football to leave so quickly if your team loses? I would have stayed and partied with Italy even though I was rooting for England. Maybe it's just my European upbringing

"I'm no football fan, but I can't see why anyone would want to destroy the enthusiasm of those who are.

Surely there's space for everyone's passions in this world?

I think the enthusiasm is infectious

When England lost I was heartbroken for them (especially when Saka started sobbing ) but couldn't help but smile and feel happy for Italy when I saw them celebrating.

Sports should be all about support and celebration; it's the taking part that counts!

That's how I feel.

I wouldn't call myself a football fan but I show an interest because its important to Ash.

Its a shame that yet again something that should unite us has been turned into a negative.

I don't just mean on here but everywhere.

That’s pretty normal in football. They don’t usually let fans leave together x

I know . And even though I wouldn’t deny them their glory I’m not sure I’d want to stay and party with them .

"Now people can finally shut up about not giving a toss about football and trying to suck the joy out of everything "

Surely you are doing the same thing.

Absolutely, I've had to put up with it the entire tournament and seeing others rejoicing in other's disappointment was the final straw.
