Does anyone think this song only sets the fans up for disappointment?

I personally think it's cursed, dooming the England team from ever winning the Euro or World Cup.

1) it’s self-depreciation

2) England had not won anything for 30 years before the song came out… you can hardly blame that!

Pick your curse figure moment.. the Bogotá bracelet, the polish clown, the hand of god, penalties, the metatarsal, penalties, Simone getting beck’s sent off, penalties, ronaldo getting Rooney sent off, penalties goals a foot over the line not being called, penalties

oh for goodness sake! What else can you blame!

The manager did good, the team did good - we may not be holding the trophy this morning but we were there, taking part of history. Everyone of the team was a role model for thousands of young kids across the country… that’s their legacy

The reason why I'm on about the coming home song is because it gives people the belief that we will win the cup no matter what.

I don't mind football songs supporting the England team but I think a song about bringing home football kind of jinxes it and puts pressure on the team.

It’s typical of fab - yesterday people were lauding England as hero’s, today they are the most crap team on earth. It pisses me off immensely that praise becomes criticism overnight. It’s childish, it’s pathetic and unnecessary

Be proud of your team!!

Despite that I don't watch football nor do I support any team, I'm sure the England team did very well and they should be proud of that.

What is childish and pathetic though is certain "fans" resorting to fighting and all kinds of abuse when their team don't win.

I don't believe in curses, but if I did how would we explain all the losses before this song was created.

Maybe it was the year 66 when we won. A superstitious person would probably think it was the year of the Devil.
