In Submarines you have to learn about every system on board and doesn't matter your trade, from how a nuclear reactor works, various electrical, hydraulic, air systems to how to isolate the compartment your in if something goes wrong and of course how to escape if everything else fails I am a former Submariner of 23yrs,I was a chef/cook call it want you want, now I in IT(Telephony & Data) so yes I have and had to learn how to soak up information
